In this case it was getting drunk, because she admitted she was very drunk that night.

If you want someone else's opinion yes she is most definitely smoking. if you don't like the idea of course there are a million other reasons people have come up with to explain it but they're a bit silly (sorry guys but they are! However that's my opinion).

More power to her really, if I had to work all the time to maintain top pop fat cat status for 5+ years in Japan which has an arguably bigger pop idol grooming industry than the US, she deserves to get stinko and loosen up once in a while.

I guess it's okay to get drunk once... in a lifetime maybe? Ayu is like anyone of us and if she wated to do that, well she did and now she knows how it feels to be that way.

But this is for tabloids and gossip only because they look at this like some kind of flaw on a person or an artist... is Ayu not supposed to drink or get drunk, ever?

It's her life I think...

Anyway, drinking is not the same as getting drunk, i agree . But getting ataxic and tripping over after you've drank can't be anything else but being drunk ahaah Ayu seems to have lost some of her coordination in that picture

I think it's no big deal that Ayu's drinking/getting drunk in those photos...she's human like the rest of us...and she is over the minimum drinking age..

Anyway, I remember when people hyped this situation up, and I do also remember when Ayu posted about regretting getting so drunk.

Oh, they do! Actually, it's worst than US because artists need to have a perfect appearence. That's why they NEVER admit they're dating. Ayu said once she was dating with Nagase but she can do that because she's already a big star, but she can't appear in public with him like western stars do all the time.

What's wrong with someone drinking or smoking, Ayu is a human being afterall and has the same opportunities (if not more) to do with her life what she wants. I only judge her by her music and PVs because I honestly think she's an artist, but I don't start acting all surprised because she had a drink or a smoke, hell, who knows, maybe she even uses drugs, but that's not my concern
