Relaxing is a whole different story. I love Ken Hirai's stuff. Grandfather's Clock rules!
mmm...
Emo stuff...
I'm going to limewire
Anywayz, i listen to songs liek SCAR, uhh... and my Inuyasha soundtracks
They have nice asian themed goodness... some of the songs are VERY relaxing
So good...
Thats one of the upsides of the series that the manga doesn't have they did a wonderful job on that stuffz.

Hirai Ken's Hitomi wo Tojite could be worth a try too. And yeah, Nakashima Mika works as well. LOL the Morpheus of J-Pop.

Ai Otsuka's LOVE COOK album is relaxing, same for Mika Nakashima's MUSIC.

Of course I'm kinda weird and can go to sleep with Hello! Project concerts blaring.

for me anything that I can relate to will work if I'm tired enough ^^

but of course with some soothing tunes it is easier to fall asleep than with some upbeat track

Theme of Love, Lenna's Theme (Potion album)
Into the Light, Pray, Prelude, The Wanderer of Time (Pray album)
GAIA, Long Distance (Love Will Grow album)
Love Grows (FFVIII soundtrack AND some concert album)
FFVII Main theme, Interrupted by Fireworks (FFVII soundtrack)
Suteki Da Ne (FFX soundtrack)

That's not all!

Sometimes I listen to Ayu songs to relax me if I'm having trouble getting to sleep, I also listen to some classical music, I especially like Bach or Vivaldi's Four Seasons for that.

I don't listen to songs to go to sleep at night, but I LOVE to listen to them on the way to school in the morning, since I like to sleep then. =P

Mostly I listen to dance/trance music. If it has a steady beat, then it's easy for me to sleep to. Confessions on a Dancefloor, AROUND THE WORLD, Daft Punk, etc... are all great for me. Plus on the way home when I'm wide awake I have an awesome CD to jive to!

Otherwise I like to listen to New Age/Ethereal kind of stuff. Never listen to Enya, really, but Sarah Brightman, Loreena McKennitt, and RURUTIA are all amazing in this department. I also like to listen to smooth hip-hop like Queen of Hip-Pop.

And I'm horrible at falling asleep in the car with this music on...like today.

Songs that make you fall asleep. Hmmm. Coldplay's Fix You is incredibly boring and sleepy at times. Listening to it without raging enthusiasm makes you knock out.

KOKIA's singing is really soothing. I also listen to Nakashima Mika's LOVE album sometimes. I think Matsu Takako's Harvest Songs album would be good as well but I haven't tried it yet..

Classical music, definitely. My favorite is Chopin. Other than that, I used to go to sleep listening to the radio (Top 40, pop) but I don't really sleep while listening to music anymore.

I've been told in the past by a friend that the Sailormoon soundtracks I lent her were good to sleep to. XD
