considering ayu is still popular, and she will probably continue to get number 1's, the record will be harder to break becuz as long as she keeps getting the number 1's, people will have to get more and more

im not sure if that even made sense..lol

Well congrats to Ayu. This is quite a feat for her. Being popular after 26 singles is amazing and only a really popular diva can achieve this. I'm really glad for Ayu and hope she will be able to break more records in the future.

i doubt they have a category for most no. 1 singles by a female japanese artist. of course, i really have no idea exactly what categories are in the guiness book of records.

Let's hope everybody celebrates this fact rather than continue complaining about her declining sales and how her new songs don't cut it anymore. This is more than enough proof that she still has it.

^ True, its slightly sickening.. Kumi everywhere in Japan already, and now all over an Ayumi forum. Ugh.

Anyway, I think ZARD was exempted because she was in a group before being solo, and they only count the solo #1's. Kinda like Geri Halliwell after Spice Girls.. But Geri changed her name. Well not her real name but.. Oh forget it.
