Yes, something must've happened. Sales in general rose in 2005, but then ayu was on the rise. I wonder how "Startin'" will do in the yearly. If she doesen't have ANY single's in the top twenty this year, it's ridiculous to blame "low sales in general". It's ayu.

Pretty weird to request this here perhaps, but could anyone upload the Kat-Tun song, and/or Kaela's song? I really liked her real heart real life.

^^ Yup, me too I think that. That's why I prefer her to wait until July to release something... something HUGE.

I think she'll reached 200,000 copies in 2-3 weeks. As long as she gets 200,000 copies, I'm happy. Although, I wouldn't be surprise if it doesn't because this single was so bad compared to her 2004-2005 minus "B&D" stuff.

you can't compare sales with boy bands, especially the ones under johnny management. first of all, it's KAT-TUN's debut single (i dunno why they didn't release anything during the past 4 or 5 years tho..). Secondly, young girls willing to spend a lot of money on boy groups. Thirdly, they have 7 different covers (6 limited, 1 normal). Each member of the group got a chance to stand in the middle of each cover (and there're 6, so that's why 6 limited editions). Last but not the least, they have done good strategy this time... Releasing the first single, first album, and a DVD at the same time... No wonder they can get a lot of sales. (it's good to see oricon bringing up a history tho.. the last person getting no. 1 on those three categorys at the same time was ayu: SURREAL + Duty + concert tour 2000 A ).

If ayu's gonna make 6 different covers on CD+DVD edition, I'm sure she may be able to sell over 200K at least on the first week as well.

I think Fairyland sold at least 300,000.

All this started with B&D

the songs arent really worth it .. ayu needs a big change and less to happy songs"girly songs".. that's the main reason why i stop liking ayu as i once did.. no Straight guy would dig the to happy songs like fairyland, greatful days, step you, honey,ANGEL'S SONG,Beautiful Day..plz make it stop ayu and there also the music she needs better music why dont she tries to write the music again under Crea. she could had done better job than Sweetbox if she had just wrote the music for "Miss understood".. well this is just my personal opinion but i feel many feel the same and some have even stop listening to ayu but i have faith in ayu and will wait for a change in the near furute.

^ Can we just discuss the sales and stop blaming her songs quality? She wrote those songs, and you can go make a thread or something.

It gets very annoying to see every page filled up with complaints on her song quality. Use the Ayu Chatroom people... Every sales thread here has someone criticizing her song quality. That does not help a single bit and only adds to the aggravation.

That's an ignorant and stereotypical statement to make.

yeah, but isn't it part of the problem for some fans? (ie: some fans are getting turned off by the songs, which leads to the lower sales?)

Yes it may be, so just say it "I think it's the song quality this time round" and stop it at there. No need for adding more and more elaboration that just gets very annoying to see in a News thread as they are somewhat like bashing, and only concealed behind a "I'm a fan, and I'm dissapointed" style of writing.

I actually thought her latest single was pretty good and have no idea why sales aren't that good. People in Japan must be going crazy or something...
