I watched that trailer, and it seems to somewhat fit. I just don't think Ayu's voice fits there. If she sounded more like Teresa Teng, then it might be a better match. But, I still don't think the lyrics fit really anything in that movie.
It was more sad, happy-ending based; Will is more like finding oneself.

the fan made video was pretty good, it does fit! and the lyrics fit very well too~
