actually, you can rip cassettes to pc. its harder for sure, but you can do it.

of course, if we still used casettes, just think, our pc's would have build in cassette drives, lmao!

^ I've actually thought about that one before...it'd be kind of wicked cool if our PCs had built-in cassette drives at one point in time o_o;! I know I would like that, kind of, because I have some awesome songs on my old mixed tapes that I would like to have on my PC....

LOL!!!

I always think that still in Indonesia PEOPLE buy cassette... Every artists that release album here FIRSTLY will release it in cassette...

No one (only few I mean) buy the ORIGINAL CD... They just buy the ORIGINAL cassette...

Ori CD is so expensive here... (So, it is hard 4 me to buy ayu's CDs...)

I'm actually considering getting one since you can convert cassettes to mp3 files. I have a some old demos and jam session tapes from a couple of my old bands and some other stuff I've done that I would like to convert to CD. I'm just wondering if it would be worth the investment.

krishna / shippo / ayugame: as indonesian, we should be proud of cassettes!! ROFL

it's like we have every cassettes for every cds released in our country!!!
and they're like 1/3 of the price of the CD itself so it's really cheap!!

people usually prefer cassettes coz it's much cheaper and walkman is way to go with 'em (discman are way heavier & iPod can be too small)

but I don't buy it anymore coz cds is rippable with my pc....heh heh
and the booklet quality of the cassetes are really suckz and small....and the booklet could be printed in annoying black & white sometimes....

I stopped using casette's about 2 years ago when i got my first MP3 player. Nothing against casette's, but it was so awkward. I used casette's for my walkman, those casette's were recorded from cd's which were burned from the computer... using my mp3 player phased out the cd burning and casette recording so it's just easier. I do still use video casette's though since i can't afford a dvd player... but i only ever tape stuff for my brother when he's working anyway lol

Lol it's shameful to admit but in my house we had the Neighbours christmas tape (for those who don't know, Nighbours is an Australian soap that's been running on tv here for years)
