the making of shows alot more american looking people than japanese...i'm thinkin' the filmed in cali...
but the sign that says "american hot dogs" really throws me off. where in america would they specify american hot dogs? the sign would just say "hot dogs" i dunno. |

It does seem like it's rather in Japan... Maybe there is indeed a restaurant like that in Japan or maybe they have a small studio-city with various sets. It is possible.
And I believe the car scenes were just in some open space with a piece of road, outside an airport, old parking lot or smth.

I know it's blurry, but the area I circled on the building; There's no way that's the english language. It's very square, like kanji (or korean?). But since it's so blurry, it might also have kana that we can't see. We'll have to wait for credits or until a better quality version comes out.
![]() (I circled it, it's in the top left corner.) Also take note of the mailbox. U.S. mail usually has the eagle on it, which is not visible in this photo. |

I never saw the Avex casting call for this PV but it was apparently within Japan. The PV is intentionally decorated so that it looks American. I agree with SunshineSlayer and think it was filmed in Japan.

yup. i think that its filmed in Japan. those american stuffs are just props. they are made to be that way. its not the first time that ayu uses caucasians in her PVs. we have seen tonnes! and whats more. there wasnt any news of ayu going overseas to film a PV or whatever. so i think its in japan.

So the mystery is solved ;-). That's what I thought - it was Japan. I must say, that Ayu & her stuff have put a big effort to make all the places look like in USA. Congrats to them :]

^ A common trend in American restaurants (particularly the new hip bistro type places) is to decorate the walls with different sorts of vintage memorabilia and signs and photos and stuff. There seems to be lots of vintage signs and such in the video. The Orange Crush sign, for example.

The fact that you can see the kanjis makes me belive it was definately shot in Japan, they made a good job making it look like the US though.
