Facial moles, especially those that look like an errant bogey are usually considered unattractive and for any up and coming I-want-to-be-an-idol it would've been first thing on my list to have gotten rid of too =X Obligatory braces too and the baby fat is cute although I don't think anyone really looked pretty at age 14.
She does look more awkward than a duck trying to tapdance (obligatory ugly duckling -> swan). If anyone had a perfectly smooth transition through puberty, I absolutely hate you  . I'm just glad that awkward few years I would like to forget were never recorded on any media whatsoever unlike her. Only one picture of me still exists and last I knew, due to its circulation among old friends the picture got destroyed (woo!). However I can agree with everyone else that regardless of her being physically unappealing at this stage, you can definitely hear that strength in her voice (when she's not singing nasally in those audition tapes however /shudder).

Wahh the first is really scary!
