She is someone who doesn't look better big. I wish she'd ditch the implants and self-tanner, though... and go back to dark hair. Then she'd look GOOD again.

Haven't seen her tours, but I'm not a tour/concert follower person. Apparently (APPARENTLY), she'll release two albums next year. I smell a Christmas album/best of (one of the two) as one of the two as well as a proper album. Just a hunch. Though she can't beat Merry Christmas - perfect booklet (doesn't have to looks for it now), great vocals (her voice is on a downward slide these days), and... yeah.

Except the stretch between Charmbracelet and The Emancipation of Mimi. I mean, nearly THREE YEARS. That's long for her, especially considering that in the 90's, she released an album every year except for 1996.

GRAMMY-WINNING pop singer Mariah Carey is trying to block porn star and politician Mary Carey from trademarking her similar-sounding stage name, saying that fans could get the two performers confused.

The adult film actress, whose real name is Mary Cook, said today that she would not be intimidated by the international superstar and will press forward with her trademark application.

"I'm ready to battle Mariah over this because I've been Mary Carey for a long time," said the actress, who started using the stage name in 2002.

"It's kind of funny because I'm a porn star and I've been being myself for a long time. I think she's being silly."

The star of such films as Double Air Bags 11 and Boobsville Sorority Girls, who once ran for California governor against Arnold Schwarzenegger, filed the trademark papers earlier this year.

In October, a lawyer for Mariah Carey sent Mary Carey's representatives a letter threatening legal action if she did not withdraw the application.

"Mary Carey and Mariah Carey share the identical surname and have first names that are very similar," attorney Robert Becker wrote.

In part because the porn star was seeking the trademark for audio and video recordings, he said: "Confusion between your client and her Mary Carey trademark and our client and its Mariah Carey trademark is therefore likely."

Mr Becker also demanded that Mary Carey use her name only for "adult entertainment" and that she not sing or perform music.

Oh! I didn't know the porn star was singing too. Now this makes some sense. I wonder why "Mary Carey" won't use her real name for her music career.

I don't see a problem though. So the names sound similar. Big deal. Mary sounds a bit different from Mariah. Besides, you think we already don't get confused enough with all the rappers with names like Lil' Stinker and Lil' Willy and Young Duhhh and Young Roo-Roo? Mariah needs to get over herself.

Although Mary Carey's film credit titles are awesome. Double Air Bags 11 for the win.

I used to be a big fan, but since I've gone off US R&B/Hip-Hop, I've gone off her too. I did buy TEOM but wasn't impressed at all. Am I the only one who thought it was really, really overrated? I used to love Charmbracelet though. I saw her on the Charmbracelet Tour and she was briiliant! She even came off the stage and walked down the aisles of seats - but she didn't come anywhere near me though.

I thought Mimi was a really good album, among her best... but a return to form, her best album ever? Hell no! Her voice is ebbing away (although, thank god, it was in somewhat better shape than it was on Charmbracelet), and Butterfly and Daydream definitely owned her R&B leanings.

Then again, that's all just my opinion, so...

Mariah was cool back when Hero came out and, I forgot that album she had. The one with heartbreaker. Yeah. Mimi was good too but she`s just annoying now. Especially since she has that really high voice.

I really love Mariah Carey. I own almost all of her albums and I've seen one of her concerts in finnish TV. It was two years old Adventures of Mimi Tour. I really loved all of the songs she performed and thought that "my god, I gotta listen to Mariah more". And thus started my fandom last November.

my personal favourite albums are Musix Box, Butterfly, Daydream, Charmbracelet, The Emancipation of Mimi and E=MC^2. I think Mariah has one of the most awesome voices I have ever heard from an female artists ever. She really has it in her. <3

I'm not sure of my personal favourite song yet, but I love songs like Boy (I Need You), Make It Happen, Always Be My Baby, Hero, Honey, Fantasy, Sweetheart, Crybaby, Say Somethin', Migrate, Bye Bye etc...

I'm very hooked into Mariah's music. I wish she'd release something new soon. :3
