I totally agree with you here, especially the last notes of all live-performances of Jewel ! This "oOoOoO~ooh" it was really terrible, because it sounded so forced... it sounded not at all like a pro-vibrato >_>

Umm, I would say that the only poor vocals I've heard from Ayu this year were at the CDL. The Arena Tour 2006 is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, and Ayu's voice is dynamite in both the encore and the main live parts (Boys & Girls and Beautiful Day, anyone?). Not to mention, during the many JEWEL lives she's had, her voice has just sparkled, particularly at the Happy Xmas show and the one at FNS where she wears that huge white ballgown.

Ayu CAN sing, and she DOES have a good voice. The thing about her is that she is more a singer made than a singer born, but that doesn't mean she hasn't worked as hard as naturally-born singers or that she falls short in terms of musical ability. She is just more inconsistent with her live performances, but this year she's had more fabulous shows than she's had any other year. Keep in mind that CDL was at the end of the year, so naturally she's exhausted. Not to mention she did a lot of jumping around...

I think it's simple. Her voice sucks when she tries to sound like a little kid (i.e., that nasal thing she does). Otherwise, its great.

CDL performances are usually not that great anyways b/c of the already mentioned reasons.

I'm surprised so many people love the (miss)understood performance...she does sound awful. Especially when you compare it to the great performance of memorial address she did a couple years earlier.

But Ayu has never been the best live singer. I think Dome Tour has her best vocals. And, in general, her live performances when Dearest was her new single are still amongst her best, in my opinion. Her voice is a lot more hoarse these days, and she screams too much.

to me, the concert with the best vocals would be A museum, stadium tour, AT 03-04 n cdl 05-06...

yeah i agree, some of her concerts make me think "is that really her singing?" and then other performances just blow me away...i don't it's weird....hopefully this year her performances will be more consistant

CDL0607 bloopers?! are those even out? i didnt find them on AT06 DVD thou..

and it just seems like most of us dun like her shouting, becoz it doesnt sound right for Ayu's songs...haha..they are so TUNEful!

i think Ayu has never sounded better. her voice is totally on par. but nobody sings perfect live 100% of the time, so we have to expect a few sour notes in there somewhere.

I dunno.. I just wanted CDL.. and I really liked it.. o.o;; I don't think she sounded that terrible.
I mean she was great, full of energy and life and her singing was pretty well done IMO

Yeah sometimes Ayu's voice does sound not so great live but I think we still enjoy her performance overall.

I think her voice is a but too low at certain parts and she goes off key alot of times during this year's CDL.

To me, her best vocal performance is the Teddy Bear + Memorial Address set she did @ Arena Tour 2003-2004.

ok i must say ayu has time where she has a amazing voice nad times where is a very terible screaming voice

but the fact isthat she is singing live koda kumi has a great voice

but in her earliers she sounded better as now when she sings yume no uta in some lives she can not do this high voice good and she is more screaming then singing

but ayumi and koda rocks so dont matter
