Green "sneaked up" on her when she least expected it, but ayu did not show any form of resistance (well if money is a factor, most tend to submit to the temptation). When pink and blue arrived, she portrayed some resistance. She did not want to manage both, but they lingered with her as contrasting and conflicting attributes. Her makeup also correlates to the idea of love and sorrow; pink for passion as portrayed on the lips, and blue for sorrow as portrayed on the eyes. Later on, she "battles" both love and sorrow and arrives at a harmonious contemplation of the two.

In the end, ayu prevails through all those complicated attributes. They made her a stronger person. Although they will still be an encompassing part of her (as they dance around her one last time), she maintains her dignity as portrayed by black.

Wow this actually sounds pretty cheesy as I re-read this..

from what i see is.

She wants people not to leave her, but on the other hand she don't want people to get too close to her, that's explain why she's avoiding them

Sounds like the most interesting interpretation around.

LOL I'm really surprised at this thread haha When I first created it, I honestly didn't have any interpretations on the PV. A little later I came out with those thoughts, and now people are coming with interesting interpretations! I was afraid this thread would die at its first post LOL

some members in ayuchina have a different thought... this is mere conclusion of what they mean...

"its something like, the blue tunnel that ayu walks down represents path of life that we have to walk. along ayu's life and career, she met a lot of challengers, but then she defeated them all, and learned their good points, hence the colour of tie changes. but then in the end, no matter how much she learn or how much she change, inside, she is still ayu, hence the black tie in the end. instead of each diva fighting each other, it is better to work together through and down the path, and she is still the leading diva after all, hence the walk together where she is taking the lead."

lol... no offence here, but the 4 ladies could be utada, koda, otsuka, and other divas... lol... again, no offence, just joking...

^ That's a good interpretation!

Um. Yeah. I don't think that there's a "meaning" after this PV. It's full of randomness. Haha.

But it was fun reading everybody's interpretation!

I shall agree with freedreamer and ayumisrael about their interpretations.

But, my own personal (and lame) take on the PV is: Perhaps Ayu knows that with depressing PVs like fated and (soon to be) Marionette, she decided to keep it a little lighter with this one.

But still, there must be a reason for her seemingly diva-ish and cold look in this PV, the blue tunnel and the changing ties.

For her aloof outlook, well dlma really is about asking hypocrites to ******* out of her life so that she can be in peace, right? Ironically, she asks them not to leave her alone in the last line. So... obviously her aloof outlook is just giving off that 'don't mess with me' signal.

Now of the blue tunnel, it represents some sort of journey, doesn't it? Now, in the PV, Ayu is like stumbling around, turning back occasionally; her facial expressions speak of fear and yet confidence. The so called perfect life would be one you would walk without ever looking back. Ayu doing that seems to tell me "my life isn't perfect". Turning back... it's as if she's filled with regrets on certain things, which just links back to the album title: GUILTY. Her facial expressions... hmm yes she's afraid of certain things as well but that confident look, could it be she's telling us she needs to look confident to inspire others, since she knows many people are already inspired by her?

Lastly, the color changing ties. FoOby is right, IMO. The colors really tell us of certain moods of her. And again was what FoOby had said, resisting the pink tie of love and the blue tie of sorrow... she's afraid to love again yet she doesn't want to be upset about it. This confusion of her feelings, it's little surprise that she wants us to leave her alone, but not leave her alone, to at least give her some sort of moral support. (Don't worry Ayu, we will ALL support you, no matter what!!! ^_^)

Yeah, I'm basically judging this based on the screencaps and freedreamer, ayumisrael and FoOby's interpretations.

Once again, I shall reinforce the idea that Ayu won't do anything without any reason.

lol, it does sond funny to read it. But i agree. And towards the end, i believe she stops dancing after realizing that it's impossible to be left alone by any of these emotion, nor the person who is causing them .She sings while they dance around her and she looks up to the camera and sings, it's as if she were saying: Dear person, do you see the dignity i have while i make my way through these attributes? These trials without you? I say i want you to let me be but, i just realized you can't. I can't allow you to leave me alone. So don't.

That's what i think she's got goin on. I also feel liek the bright colors and crap is to kinda make it seem like Wonderland as if everything's all cute and sexy and fun, when the truth is that all of it is just heartcandy(not eyecandy, candy for the heart and soul^^) but it'll eventually leave.

For all the words unspoken
I keep to myself because I’m selfish
I don’t speak to you because I think you’re selfish
Can’t there be an easier way?

My mind trespasses a vacant heart
But it soon learns of the orphan of secrets
Held inside
Why can’t I just foster my emotions
Like you had
Like all of you had?

In the stormy season
We often admire the rain
Why is it so admirable?
What’s so blissful about crying skies?
Nothing’s blissful about running mascaras
And gasping orbs of emotion
Smeared liner of depression
Drenched cheeks with forged smiles

The colder it is
The warmer we truly feel, right?
So can’t you just accept the secrets
And put away the selfish mindset
Because I can’t do the same thing.

First of all: I LOVE THIS PV.

I also think that the blue tunnel is some kind of journey, her life. The dancers passing by and changing her tie color could be emotions or challenges she has to face in her journey of life. Then in the end she seems strong, but then her tie changes back to black and she suddenly stops... hmm, it could be that the her life wasn't that easy after all. Life is not always "cool" or fun. That's how I see it.

But as some people have said, the dancers could also mean that she (doesn't)/wants to be left alone.

OK, here's my interpretation! Beware, it contains Tomoya. XD

The tunnel she's walking through represents her relation with him. It's a tunnel and she can't get out, though she wants to!

On the way she meets various girls that represent him, her beloved boyfriend. In their relation, when he's happy, she's automatically happy too.. (her tie changes color). When he's sad, she feels with him (tie changes again). She loves him and so it's not weird for her to change her mood like that. BUT when she feels certain way (now I'm referring to the lyrics), he just offers his empty words, empty smile. She doesn't like that and so she's fighting with the girls. She doesn't want to be a puppet anymore!

The feeling of being addicted to him, and his emotion towards her being bland makes her want to be alone. She wants to be herself, not influenced so much by him. Yet the addiction is still there and it won't pass very quickly. (don't) Leave me alone

Hahahaha lolz . That was very funny ImpactBreaker . In my opinion, after seeing the PV a few times (oh my poor eyes!!! ), i think i'm starting to get it.
First of all, we have an ayu with a tie. It doesn't matter if it changes of color (well, it does) but before anything i think she's trying to say us, she can be independent like a "man". Not that a woman can't be, but we all know men have this strong image, and the tie represents them.
She stars with a black tie (which in this case could ummm, i won't say Tomoya cause everybody goes like crazy. I'll create an imaginary man...like...Pomoya!) Ok so she's with Pomoya and then they cross through many other people. They change her attitude, and she leaves him and takes the personality of the others.
She thinks she's happier this way, so she keeps on doin' it. But a t the end she just finds that she's not happier anywhere else excpt with Pomoya. POOM!! the tie changes to black and they lived happily ever after.

THE END

Well, Ayu wearing a tie+collar thing is obviously something to take notice of, since the women are all in dresses, while Ayu is in the tie and pants ensemble. :O
