Thoughts on GUILTY

i didn't like GUILTY when i listened to the preview, but when i listened to the full song...!

This album... FLOWS SO WELL. I'm loving it!!! >w< Marionette and GUILTY are great, haunting songs. MY ALL-- I need a couple more listens before it grows on me, but I loved it during the preview so I'll probably love it soon enough. I love untitled though. *__* It is such a great closing song.

Marionette feels very movie-ish or yea, musical...the ending is very dramatic and sad...i felt like crying then...its very nice..the guitar is amazing

and yea, i also heard "something GUILTY" in GUILTY...that english stuff in her song is pretti cool..hehe

Now going into MY ALL..

Now that I've listened to a couple more of the new songs, what stands out is how pleasant Ayu's voice is to listen to. Even in the upbeat MY ALL it's more playful than squeky. I hope that's the way it is throughout this album.

I just finished listening to the whole album from start to finish, and I must say it has good flow. The only bad part is the lack of new tracks and tons of interludes, but I guess the album wouldn't have flowed so well without it.

01. Mirror 4/5
I loved this from the moment I first heard it. Full of energy while also giving a sense of mystery and a great atmosphere to start off the album. I would have given it 5/5 but since it was only an introduction, I gave it 4/5. NEEDS TO BE LONGER. D:

02. (don't) Leave me Alone 4/5
A good opening track with a lot of energy. It's not as catchy as something like Until that day... but it's still alright.

05. GUILTY 4/5
Sounds a lot like Linkin Park IMO. XD I like it but I don't see myself listening to it a lot. The chorus is very good with the "Guilty?" "Or not guilty?" bits in it.

08/09 Marionette 5/5
My fav new track on the album. I always wanted a song called this and finally Ayu did it. :3 She pulled it off very well, and the sense of mystery is again portrayed here. The song is excellent and the arrangement is really good. Kind of reminds me of Pride. XD

10. The Judgement Day 5/5
My fav interlude on the album. I get the feeling of heaviness finally being removed and a movement towards freedom. I like how just a piece of music can portray something like Ayu moving away from the end of her relationship to something new. This is also good since it creates good flow into glitter.

12. MY ALL 4/5
Sounds like a good concert ender to me. XD I never really liked the concert end song style, but this song is pretty nice.

13. reBiRTH 2.5/5
I don't really like this interlude, I don't think it's even needed. It's very typical of an Ayu interlude and is something we've all heard before. (Kaleidoscope, LABYRINTH etc) The strings are a nice touch though.

14. untitled ~for her~ 4/5
I like the strings at the start of this song, I can feel a lot of emotion come out of it. It's a very nice song and I really like the chorus. A great way to end the album.

Mirror is a good opening, but Not yet is better, 4/5
DLMA is awesome, it's better than Startin, but the PV of it is horrible, to be honest, but the song is very intertesting. I just love that song style, maybe that's why I approve of it 5/5
GUILTY is also awesome. very depressive. it reminds me of I am... rock somehow. many ppl wil find it broing but I thnk it's great for an album theme song.5/5
Marionette definately should have been a single. so powerful. just like criminal! which is one of the best songs of Ayu and I'm sure the Pv of it will be stunning 5/5
The Judgement Day reminds of RAINBOW era...it's nice 5/5
MY ALL reminds of Replace and that's why I guess I like it a lot. it's so much better than glitter, actually 4/5
reBIRTH awesome title and beautiful as an interlude, but I wanted it to be a full track 4/5
~untitled~for her is very much similar to Secret,but I think it's better than it. it's good for an ending song but I have a feeling it misses something, 4/5

After I heard the whole album the first thing I say WOW.
That's an ayu album I wanted to get in a long time!!
It's now my 3rd most fav ayu album ^-^.

Mirror - 5/5 - I like it better than the other half songs
(don't) Leave me alone - 5/5 - I fell in love with this song already in the preview

GUILTY - 4/5 - A really good song it's like a calm rock track and it has a bridge!!

Marionette -prelude- - 5/5 - There's something behind that, I like it

Marionette - 5/5 - I really love this song, is sounds so good, can't wait for the PV!!

The Judgement Day - 5/5 - Dancish interlude with ayu's vocals!

MY ALL - 3/5 - It's a really nice pop song, ayu has better pop songs though

untitled ~for her~ - 5/5 - Definitly one ayu's best ballads, I almost cried.

Frankly speaking I don't like the chorus that much... I find the intro, midde and ending more interesting.

The prelude is ok, but together the song is good. Though the intro is kinda too heavy[sad?] for me, the chorus and ending are making up for it.

The title fits the song like a t.. well the melody anyway since I don't understand pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~. Very good ending

Overall, the arrangement is good! GUILTY better do well.. I can't imagine why such a great album will settle for anything less

GUILTY at all (4.9/5): Her third best album, after (miss)understood and Secret. I can't describe how much I love it. Marionette is as perfect as I imagined. But I feel there's something missing. There are too much "old" tracks in it. I think glitter and fated could be removed of it. glitter sounded so strange between so much painful-ish songs. And as always... Ayu never disappoints me with songs. SHE'S THE BEST, NOT YOU KUU 8D

Mirror
interesting & upbeat instrumentation, makes you pumped up. I really like all the intersting effects & how the music suddenly bursts alive.

I really like the chorus, this energetic song is a good way to start the album & it really sets the mood of the album.

talkin' 2 myself 2/5
powerful & really melodramatic song. the heavy strings are maybe bit much to my liking as I've never been too fond of the song, it's a good song but not great. but it really works better on the album as a follow up to (d)lma rather than as a stand alone track

decision 3/5
more delicate song which keeps the momentum of the previous songs with a heavier chorus. again really dramatic song.

GUILTY 3/5
this song has interesting music & mood, I like ayu's vocals here. a good time to slow things down a bit on the album after so many explosive tracks.

first ballad of the album, still keeping on with the rock feel. I really like this song & the melancholic mood of the song.

Together When ... 5/5
I think this ballad has more sorrowful feel, but I feel it still has more like a comforting & optimistic sound to the chorus. definitely one of the best songs off the album to me.

interesting little piece, it sounds like a bit creepy like from a old horror b&w film from the 50s or something

again a really melodramatic & moving chorus, I like the instrumentation. really a dakr & moody sounding song.

the transition from the darker & dramatic rock to the lighter pop sound , it's brilliant.

this upbeat synthpop song sounds like a breath of fresh air after so many "darker" songs. I really like the chorus, super upbeat withouth sounding sappy. IMO one of the better summer singles she has ever had.

MY ALL 5/5
first new pop song. sounds very H/\L-esque & very familiar but with still sounding like a new song. very catchy chorus, another one of my favorites off this album.

very H/\L-esque interlude, seems kinda pointless

- way too many interludes, rebirth was really unnecessary.

- I think there should have been atleast one more "pop" song on the later half of the album to balance it out, maybe a full song instead of reBirth.

- while I think the rock -> pop flow is ok, I feel if there were more pop songs a better flow could have achieved by mixing it up a bit. too many melodramatic songs follow up to each other, it's a bit much & they don't stand out that well. throwing in a few more pop numbers there could bring out the feel of the dramatic songs out more

i want the old ayu back

i think ayu's vocal work in this album is really good, but its oh so dramatic that it gets old pretty quickly, not all of us are "drepressed" and want that kind of music :S, all the sudden glitter is not that bad :X

i might say that my favorite part of the album where the last 5 songs and together when.... but, i must say i regret buying this album :'(

Marionette is pretty interesting tho, i'm looking forward the PV

Ill post my praises later after i've heard it more. But my first impressions always need to be vented.

This album sounds like crap so far. Same old melodies pasted into new lyrics. 4 interludes? 4? 4? 4? I mean 4 out of 14 tracks are interludes? Rediculous. I don't mind the album being short, but having 4 interludes is a bit like saying "Hey everyone here's a 14 track album! But wait! Only 10 of them are songs!"

Now alot of these "new" songs are so generic. They sound like abortions of songs she's already done.

MY ALL sounds like something off her first two albums, and while that doesn't necessarily mean it would be bad, sadly it is.

The onyl tracks I whole-heartedly enjoy are Talkin 2 myself/Decision, Fated, and Together When...

The rest kinda pale in comparison to her other albums. I really feel she pieced this together carelessly, either that or shes just running out of steam for this career of hers. I thought taking a break like she did to do her Best 2 would give her some much needed time, but it seems like she needs to go back into the oven for a bit.

Keep in mind these are my own personal thoughts and feelings and If any of you like the album, I'm glad. I just personally think it was not what it could have been, especially after an amazing album like Secret. I guess everyone is entitled to one bad album. Which this is by far the worst, as I enjoy the rest of her albums.
