Good idea actually... I think that in the very beginning though if there's someone in Japan (or maybe not even in Japan) who speaks Japanese can contact Avex and inquire about something like this?

Hopefully they're not the type of company that brushes everything off etc. etc. and keeps referring to other people throughout the organization.

Definitely an ambitious project though, good luck!

So, this whole thing IS possible, we'd just have to find a way to give it to Ayu. I'm sure she'd read it...maybe not all at once (or maybe she would?). It's not everyday you receive this big book of messages from your fans from around the world. Of course, this doesn't need to be strictly in Japanese or English - we could get messages from her fans from around the world, and have them write messages in their native languages.
woot woot. Don't mean to brag..but that was me who put the scrapbook together..I didn't attend the actual thing, but I sent it to my friend who did. XDDD

Anyway, I'm sure that if we do something like this at this forum, it will be great. Ayu will definately appreciate our work...and my personal experience..making the scrapbook isn't hard...and it's possibly the best thing that I can think of to let [the artist] know how we feel.

If you guys want to see my scrapbook pages for AAA, it's on my myspace blog. [look at my sig for link]

^Wow! The scrapbook looks amazing! That would be so cool if we could do that. But how did you guys do that? Cause the Ayu fanbase is gigantic, and I think it'd be a bit hard to create a scrapbook with like, over a hundred pages, wouldn't it? And while it'd be nice if only a handful of people worked on it, I think a lot of of people want to contribute. I'm just wondering.

^ Well, we could definitely advertise this idea on different Ayu forums, and then maybe create a separate group, website, or guestbook where Ayu fans can write out what they want on there. (Maybe include pics they want with their messages.) And then we could set up an address for them to send their messages if they want to include handwritten messages.

Like you said, there are so many Ayu fans all around the world...so this book might be pretty big.

If we do make a scrapbook, there's no way we can do it, unless someone volunteers to print the messages and/or pics. It would be easy if there were some forum members who lived close to eachother in some way where they can handle the bulk...:/ Other than that, unless everyone is okay with printing their own stuff out and handwriting letter/printing letter/whatever and mailing it to some volunteer's post office they provide, then the volunteer will pick up the stuff and arrange them in the scrapbook. But then I feel bad if they have to pay for the shipping because that will be ONE FAT BOOK.

Lol better yet, how about each person that mails stuff include a sheet protector, so the volunteer won't run out so fast.

That's actually a good point, hmm...maybe we could have a few people be in charge of this and then everyone could choose who they want to send it to? And then once everyone's done sending in their stuff, and the people in charge are done with their portions of the book, maybe they could send all their stuff to one person, who will paste it together in one (or more o_o) scrapbooks, and then ship it off.

In terms of paying for the large shipping...maybe some people could help donate to the person who is going to be shipping it off? (Or include it with the stuff they want to be included into the book.) And that's a good idea about the sheet protectors - everybody send one! Or, if you can, send one. (I'm sure some people live in tiny towns with only one grocery store or something.)

^You know I was gonna put that in my post, but didn't think about the different scrapbook volunteers being able to mail their portion to the "head scrapbooker" who has the skills to combine all the efforts and then mail it off officially...haha I'm really sleepy. Long day.

BUT if we get enough people here who are like 'yeeah! I'm cool with mailing an envelope package to one of the scrapbookers (with a sheet protector!)' then we can move to phase 2! We compile a list of different forums with big ayu fanbases after we make a list of people who are willing to volunteer to put pages of a scrapbook together. Depending on how many lovely people will volunteer to receive ayu messages in their post office, will determine how light the load will be. THEN we have the volunteers assigned to the forums and make a post about our idea and tell them if they are interested, leave a post with their email and check their spam boxes because they'll receive an email later from the volunteer. THEEEN the volunteer compiles the list of people on their respective forum and emails them from a new email address (eh ayumessenger1/2/3/ect.) and tells them to mail their package to blablabla if they are still interested.

If that makes any sense, tell me please lmao.

OHH and about the cost, for the main scrapbooker, people who are completely awesome can donate funds with a paypal account (after we find out how much the big scrapbook is gonna cost for shipping). It's the safest way I can possibly think of donating. For the volunteers who send off their sections of the scrapbook, we can do donating for that too. I guess it should be on a basis of their own financial standing, and if the S/H will be like 10USD for them, and they're cool with that, or not. I mean, I'm pretty sure if one of the volunteers worked really hard on their portion and told us they couldn't afford to ship the thing because outrageous S/H fees in their country , we can get together and work something out where we donate to help them out.

lol I understand. =) I think it's been a long day for us Ayu fans...

I think I get what you're saying, but let me clarify (just to make sure) - so, once we get enough people (from at least AHS) who say, "YEAH LET'S DO THIS! (And I'll provide a sheet protector, too!)"), we'll move onto phase two. Phase two is where we go to other big Ayu forums (AyuChina, AHN, etc) and tell them about the idea. Then a volunteer (assigned for these bigger forums) will set up a thread, which will include an e-mail address where people can officially say, "Hey, I wanna help out with this and send you something." Then that volunteer will gather all those e-mails (from the forum that they are assigned to) and send them a confirmation e-mail (from a new e-mail address set up for this event) telling these people, "Hey, you can send your stuff to this address: [insert volunteer's address] Thanks!"

I think we can really do something now that we actually have this organized and set up...!!! =D Oh, and if it's alright, I can go ahead and spread the word over at AHN. I don't mind being the volunteer in charge of handling everything over there. =)

EDIT:

I'm pretty sure you don't need a Paypal account to donate, but I'm near 100% sure you need a credit / debit card to donate. Don't get me wrong, that's a great idea, and that will definitely be a preferred option (for those who are able to do so, anyway). I guess other people could submit checks or cash if they can't use Paypal.

I know the main book will probably be a lot to ship, so we'll definitely need to help out with that. As far as the other volunteers sending it to the one who will ship it to Japan, those might be smaller, more affordable fees (unless they receive a lot of mail and have to send out a heavier load, which we can help out with as well).

I think we should definitely spread the word around. Maybe find the biggest Ayu groups on the more well-known networking sites (Myspace, Facebook, Friendster, Xanga, etc), and maybe even the international ones (Mixi, Skyrock, etc). Of course if you're joined on a Myspace, tell all your friends (if you have any that like Ayu) - they may want to help out, too!

Oh, and Aggar, you don't even have to write out the message in English. If you want, you can write it out in your native language. I definitely think Ayu will love that - seeing fans from all over the world, speaking many different languages, who listen to her music and love it.

Do we have a name for this yet? My ideas are a bit cheesy, but I was thinking either "A BOOK FOR XX" or "A LOVE". ^_^;

EDIT: Oh, and here's her fanmail address:

107-0062東京都港区南青山3-1-31 大手町建物青山ビルディング
浜崎あゆみオフィシャルファンクラブTeamAyu

And here it is translated by 4ever*ayu:

TeamAyu, Hamasaki Ayumi Official Fanclub
3-1-31 Aoyama, Minato-ku
Tokyo 107-0062

lol And if y'all want, I can also post the phone number to contact TeamAyu and an inquiry box. ^__^

This is an awesome idea!! Should someone set up a main, official thread where people send their letters to? Or maybe someone could create a main website that everyone from all the different forums could send the letters to. But I suppose we need someone to send it to first, don't we... :/

But if anyone needs any help, I'm more than happy to. After all the problems Ayu's gotten me through, I think I owe that much to her.

I'll go ahead and set up an official thread here, just so we don't have any more other ones floating around. XD And we'll probably need all the help we can get, too...

As I said, I'm going to set up an official thread for this, and I'll explain what we can start doing there. =)

yes!! lol worded way better, thanks!

Oh, well I have my debit card linked to my paypal account, so it would be no problem for me to donate that way, but paypal is the only method I, personally, can think of. Maybe someone that's more knowledgeable in sending different currencies to someone in another country can help explain what we can do...haha this isn't my area of expertise.

And if they know we'll help them if they need it, we can get some more support! I think this can really happen if we can gain more support...and as for naming it...it like HAS to have the A logo...maybe Appreciation lol I mean come on!...or relate it to a song that she made to relate to her fans (MY ALL comes to mind). OKAY I'M BRAIN FRIED NOW.
