[Namie Amuro] Is PAST really < FUTURE?

Hmm. I say the first option. I love her since ehm, the album Queen of Hip-Pop. This albums beats every album.

PAST < FUTURE definitly!
Her new album is the only one from her I love ( even if I dislike 3 songs on it).
I dislike most of her old discography, just like one or two songs from earlier albums.
So yeah, she's going in the absolute right direction for me.

do i want her to go back to 90's amuro? no. that would be silly. but i wish she expressed emotions like she did back then. her voice stays at the same tone for the majority of her newer songs, only going up/down when she sings oohh's and lalala's. it's also very muffled. the music is way louder than her voice. it's distracting to me...

its not like i don't enjoy her new stuff, it's still fun...however, even though "new look" is fun, it's basically the same equivalent as an english singer singing: "i'm going shopping lol chocolate twiggy i got a new minnie skirt and i'm getting my hair done la la la new look omg" o_o.

I mean it's her best album, but not that drastically different!

It's the best album she has released so far. <3 The sound on this album also reminds me a bit of Concentration 20 somehow. :p But anyways I really love PAST < FUTURE. It has surpassed PLAY as my favourite Namie album now completely. <3

PAST = FUTURE. As others have said, there isn't much difference from P<F to PLAY (really even before then). Her albums from Style to now rotate between R&B, hip-hop, pop, and electro as a main influence.

PAST > FUTURE - I'm not enjoying with her music now. Her last good album was... Queen of Hip-pop. PAST < FUTURE has good tracks, but they can't beat her old hits and songs of the beginning of her "R&B and hip-pop era".

For Me, all her songs are both good and bad. Not all her songs is best n nice.

I put equal. I really, really love her old stuff and I still cannot stop listening to P<F so I had to go with = haha. Because the second I saw the title of the poll I knew I was going to put = from the beginning whether it was an option or not! :{P (hahahaha... he has a mustache. SWEET!)

I can see some of the difference from PLAY. But I wouldn't say its her best so far. I think that Dr. is SO different than what she's done that it can influence the opinion of the whole album. The Meaning of Us was uninspired, plus the chorus sounds like that one American R&B song that says "I'll make love to you, like you want me to". First Timer reminded me of Luvotomy, but in a bad way. Those were the only tracks I had a problem with. Copy That and Shut Up sound different than the usual Namie sound to me. I love Wild and Love Game they're good dance tracks.

True Story. Past< Future is the very first Namie album I've ever purchased. Her previous works contained overtly cliche songs and resembled watered down American R&B. I've been exposed to R&B since the 80's and I must admit I'm quite candid and opinionated when it comes to other artists stepping into the genre.

Putting that aside, her new album is far superior on so many levels. I loved 10 out of the 12 songs on the album. I've never enjoyed more than 2 songs on her previous works.

I choose PAST = FUTURE as I'm not into her music after PLAY album. After it I liked only few: WHAT A FEELING, COPY THAT & WILD.

I miss Style of Queen of Hip-Pop... But I'm glad for her that she's making music that many-many people like.
