This hasn't happened with any of my favorite songs but covers do annoy me sometimes and I find it hard to appreciate the song since the artist didn't write the lyrics to it.

Yeah, it makes me sad that it's not an original. Like Vienna Teng's Green Island Serenade. I thought it was so cool that she was singing in Mandarin, to find out that it's already famous.

I do. If I really like a song, and I'm thinking "wow, I'm so proud of them!" and then you find out it's a cover it kinda kills the excited vibe, you know?

I don't get annoyed if one of my fave songs is a cover, it surprises me but I don't really get annoyed.

Ah. I thought of one that really annoyed me/made me sad. Mi, arguably my favorite J-Pop band, did a cover of W's Give Me Up, and made their own -single- of Give Me Up featuring the song and all. I was so upset, it's a great song and I thought it was theirs.

Though the original rawks. =P

W's version was a cover too. XD BaBe released it in 1987, and their version was also a (Japanese) cover of an English song by the same name by Michael Fortunati that was released in 1986.
