I find it odd that fans feel this is a money making ruse by Avex.... but A BEST 3 next year wouldn't be...

I don't think that any best is actually better than this one in "money making" lol.

Yeah it becomes rediculous when you release a compilation album most/every year of your career but thankfully it's not like this in ayu's case.

I read the article and while it appears accurate on the surface...

She just released an album with all new content, minus one digital single. That means instead of buying 2 or more physical singles + new album with said singles included, we only needed to buy one album. Thus, we saved money.

Yet now she/Avex is being accused of abusing her fandom buy "making" us buy a compilation album with one new song and all new video content.

If anything, the money we saved not buying singles can be factored into this price.

Singles are the true waste of money in the long run, yet people still willingly buy those. Ayu almost always includes the tracks in her singles in her albums, making the single completely unneeded after the album drops. And if the single does happen to have a remix on it, that means the remix and instrumentals now becomes a $20 investment.

What I would say is more offensive is having singles released with different track lists. I mean MOON/blossom, crossroad and L were the most ridiculous releases she's done. Absolutely no reason for the way they did those than to make more money.

But at least a best album serves a cause outside of her strong fan base.

Look at her Youtube channel or her facebook, of course Ayumi has her twitter and weibo but thats not for the casual fan. One can market themselves in alot of ways.

I understand that Tie-ins or beautiful cover art isn't the cookie cutter solution to sales, but I don't think completely giving up on these options is either.

I'm just convinced that whatever Ayu's current vision is, it doesn't maintain the high standard she had for herself in the past and I wish her team would just pick up the slack in any way. Photoshoping yourself till you are unrecognizable doesn't count, lol.

And just for future reference, Namie did some Tv promos for one of the songs off Uncontrolled; I think it was Break it (maybe someone can correct me.)

No, I didn't blame you , but the one that tagged their name on it.
Actually I don't mind it cuz it's meme usually people who made this kind of thing won't put their name on the picture. It feel free to use, but for this one I don't know what to said. LOL never mind It didn't take much time to make it anyway.

Honestly I think I'm just gonna download the new song.. If there's interesting re-arrangements I could consider buying it.. A BALLADS was worth it so maybe this one will surprise me positively?

The re-arrangements on A BALLADS were surprising and better than the real song, especially A Song for ××, so I hope some of these songs will be rearranged as well.
