i guess it is considered to be a mini album, but im not suprise it's not a full album, i mean, she just released The Voice didn't she? i just hope this would be better than her two recent albums.. which is quite disappointing. i was wondering... i think i know why ai ga kikoeru was a little off for me. i think it's the microphone that she uses, you can hear her breathing, and her voice comes out different... like it's a cheap microphone. i don't know, just that her voice sounds different compared to her older albums. am i the only one noticing this? i think her being independent kinda made her music low quality.. kinda sad. she used to make really good music. hopefully Fairy Dance will be good though, it's arranged by the local irish musicians, so that's good!

^ The VOICE was a beautiful album but i agree with you on the breathing, i thought the same. but i don't really think the music became low quality.

i never realised about the "breathing" in ai ga kikoeru. but it's not my fav album, either. (in spite of the fact it has beautiful songs such as a universe, so sad, so bad or aigakikoeru)
as regards The VOICE, the problem is, imo, that is tooooo sad. except for pocchong and follow the nightigale (too "high", i mean, too serious) there is not light song. so it's a hard and a little boring to listen too, even if it has great songs, such as ave maria or il mare dei souni.

as regards Fairy Dance, I think there should not be discussion whether it will be a full album or mini-album... the tracks are there, and they are confirmed. (I would call it a "concept" album, though).

I am going through a strong KOKIA crisis... yesterday i saw chouwa, from the new DVD, and it was all the same...

btw, if you are wondering which clip is that, here you have the link.

not just the breathing but also her vocal skills are not as top notch as before... the way she moved her voice in remember me and in trip trip and how high she hit those notes kinda felt natural and they grab you more... now, it seems like her voice keeps getting deeper and deeper and while it's still beautiful i just wish she can higher her notes a little bit more. i don't know, maybe im just over analyzing it, but can't help but notice these things. also, her arrangements have been low quality, like someone of them are waaay too long! and too slow. she needs to find the balance!

ayesha: what do you mean about "it's all the same..."? and thank you for the clip! she sings it wonderfully <3

ayesha, does that mean your not a fan anymore? i didn't quite understand your live review. was it because kokia wasn't nice on her vip concert? can explain pls?

^^What I understood from her review is that, Ayesha has high expectations from KOKIA and Fairydance. But judging by the name, it's got to be a very lively album.

Oh, yeah, about the breathing in ai ga kikoeru, I realized that too. That's why i never listen to it. I wouldn't blame the mic. for it, but rather, the song editor. Didn't he catch it???

i think it's either the mic or shes too close to the mic. if you compare some songs to ai ga kikoeru to "time to say goodbye" where she also uses a deep voice it sounds a little different. maybe she sounds better in her older songs because they use a different recording equipments? i don't know... i meant her review on her website. she says that they didn't play good songs in the vip concert and that japan gets better and newer songs? am i correct? and also she didn't connect well with the audience?

I do not experience KOKIA as before. This change started back in te european tour. I felt dissapointed (as you can read in my review), very dissapointed.
In fact, I wanted to cancel the second part of the trip 8Brussels) and I'm glad I didn't because if it weren't be for the Brussels concert the trip would have been quite bad). Besides, I was not going through a good period in my personal life.

And because people change, evolve, now i do not feel her music as before, and ,other music which fills me much more influence as well. it depends on how you feel. and at this moment, KOKIA music does not help me.

does it mean i am not a fan anymore? i like her music, but not like before. and well, i'm still running the web, but from another perspective. it's like a "duty" because i like to finish what i start. the problem with a website of an artist is that you cannot finish it unless you "close" it.

i do not know if i will stop updating happii KOKIA

yes i agree! thats the only kokia site that i visit, theres not a lot of kokia sites out there that people who are curious and fans to check for kokia news! pls don't quit the site!

kokia's music, while it is evolving, still holds a message, a message that you will only see if you look inside of it... it's not like before where it's more in your face... it's hard to find but it's still there. don't give up on kokia just yet... trust me, it's hard to find an artist like kokia who wants to spread happiness and love with her music, and actually has a personality and charm, unlike other artist who cares more about fame and money. don't forget shes independent and that at this moment, she needs all the support that she needs... she's doing everything just to spread this message in her music, so you can understand why it's soo hard for her to be equally be giving to fans in japan to fans in other country's as she would be spending more money for it to sell overseas. you just need to let go of that memory and move on with your life... thats what life is, let go of the negativity and look forward! what ever problems you have in life you need to list down these problems and solve them one by one... basically you have to do something about it... anyways, just hope the best for you ayesha and hope you stay a kokia fan, we loooove happii kokia!! <3 a lot of my friends visit it almost everyday!

The documentary is not a big thing, specially when there´re no subtitles and you don´t understand very well Japanese.
from jpopmusic.com, i started to answer this, and ended by answering kokiafan and aqua...

sorry, but it's a little long.

it's like we , overseas fans, are martians, or smth. it s.... i mean, we always have to be happy with what they deliver to us... and if we do not know japanese, that's quuiiiiiite little. i have the feeling that we have to make a big search to find the thing, the concept

of course you can always order the cd's, and that's the first step, but after that you will probably want more.

i have spent many hours with happii KOKIA, and i have found sooooo hard to have certain info or material... it's always been a kind of strugle, not literally... but almost.

you make a thing such as a EUROPEAN tour, and it's reflected in 30 minutes of documentary, without subs (i suppose they think "who cares about the "other"!? they know japanese for sure!" )

BUT
THE FACT IS THAT
WE ARE ALSO PART OF IT.

the previous dvd, les couleurs de paris, has english subs (if i remember well) and it took months to release it overseas (and not in the usual conditions...)

i spent a pretty good amount of money to see KOKIA live twice in the tour, and i had the bad luck to chose the VIP which was a total dissapointed... and then, .. i know for sure the best one was the BEST OF.. which i have missed forever...

and the dvd of the 10th anniversary is so expensive!!! (let's not talk about the merchadnising in the tour...)

you know, when you see things closer, you usually prefer not to have seem them?

that's what has happened to me.

when i started happii KOKIA i just wanted to share the marvelous music. but at the same time i know , KOKIA has benefitted from that, i do not know in which level.

i sense a great barrier between japan and europe, and i don't think it's fair, because there are certain people here who really loved KOKIA music and tried to spread it.

and yes, i admit it, KOKIA and her manager alike, they were grateful for the web... but come on! i'm sure they could have done more than just an autograph. (ok, i said it, i like to lay my cards on the table, not even a poster or smth, i flew there from SPAIN - and yes, you have the japanese troupe who went to the three shows, but they from another world, i cannot compare myself with them)

and no, i don't think i will stop updating happii KOKIA, anyway, these past months i have not worked on it very much because there has not been very much to do. but it's normal to have such periods when you stop and think about what you have been doing... because no one did it... and i wanted to do it. and i'm proud of it.

but the problem is that NOW i do not feel connected to KOKIA's music as i was two months ago. (i have changed alot these past months, for the better, and that's for sure!) perhaps this will change, because people change, musical tastes too. [and now that position is run by Darren Hayes, which has been my inspiration for the last year and a half, and for some time, it complemented with KOKIA's]but i do not know when it will occur.

heres her performance on il mare de suoni in her 10th anniversary concert:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=ojimTU2L6SQ

ayesha: i completely agree, we really can't do anything about it. it is depressing... but its not really kokia's fault. and heck, your soo lucky to even see her in live, you know what i would do just to see her in live? i'd probably give one of my limbs, lol. and im sure im not the only one out there who would kill just to see her perform chowa, or ave maria, or even anything. i'll have to fly across the world just to see that. when the first dvd was released it had subtitles because kokia probably wanted overseas to understand as well and it took forever because it takes money to distribute and shes independent. but this dvd, it wasn't released just by herself, so maybe that explains why there wasn't subs. kokia lives in japan, which is why she has more stuff to offer them then us. im sure if she was to live in europe, japanese fans would feel jealous too.

"and yes, i admit it, KOKIA and her manager alike, they were grateful for the web... but come on! i'm sure they could have done more than just an autograph. i do feel for you, considering how much work you put on happii kokia, they could have done more that sign you an autograph. but what else can they offer? maybe there wasn't enough communication? maybe you can email her and make an agreement that you will provide news for around the world fans but she needs to provide you news herself... i don't know. if you want i can help you with happii kokia, but you need to teach me to find info on her, like how you find news for happii kokia, maybe we can befriend someone who speaks and reads japanese, just an offer ^^

yes, you should feel very proud of happii kokia, the site grew a lot! i go there everyday for the past two years and i've noticed how much it grew! now, everyone depends on it for kokia news! and not just that, like you said, you gave her new fans... that's quite a big accomplishments. while everyone changes, theres always a little part of them that keeps something... and doesn't change.

Ayesha well, It's sad that you have to leave happi kokia just like is sad that you may not be a kokia fan anymore, maybe now you relate that weird or uncomfortable moment in your life and kinda mixed it kokia and the result is hits u_u.

Also, mmh about the whole japan/europe well yes, it will be different maybe is a matter of money but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying her music.

You have a great site and you are/were a great fan n_n, and reading your entry kinda made me disappointed at kokia >_<, you are not saying we should stop liking her right?, I actually want to buy the best concert... is it worht it? I dunno, and yes it's super expensive! better be worth it >_<.
