ok, since utada's being lazy right now, and there's not much to talk about, i wanna post this fun fact:

my sis has this hello kitty music box, really cute. it's shaped like one of those old record players, with hello kitty on the record.

i was listening for a while, then i got my first love cd

i listened again....

then i saw the little plaque on it

IT WAS PLAYING IN MY ROOM <3 (actually, this was years ago, but i thought i could share it with you guys XD)

COOOOOOOL! I LUV IN MY ROOM! I actually thought that should have been Hikki's next single off of First Love. I mean, Hikki performed it several times which she had sung it really well live.

I imagined the PV would be that the camera goes up a set of stairs and in to Hikki's room where she is sitting on her bed. From there, she starts to sing...the camera semicircles her and then goes counterclockwise. As the song fades, the camera backs up towards the door and when it backs out the doorm Hikki waves and closes her door!

Wow, boring huh? XD (I don't think it is! )

you forgot kuma-chang!!

speaking of pvs, isn't it odd that she only has pvs for single songs, and none for album songs? =(
she should also release a cd+dvd soon, instead of those bulky UH dvd collections =(

also, since people are arguing over utada's peaks and such, i suggest this!:

everyone relisten to utada's albums. all of the ones you have. nonstop. i don't care if you're dying or whatever, DO NOT PUSH THE PAUSE BUTTON (ok, you're allowed to, just don't switch songs in the middle of the album)

then give a review of the songs =3 each and every one

i'll start off with first love (after hwk T.T)

She did a PV for Deep River but that was it! :sad I agree with you on the CD+DVD release too. She needs to get with times when it comes to releasing her cds. But I suppose since Hikki doesn't go on enough tours or do concerts that it's only logical that EMI releases the UH clips to milk money off as much as possible.

Yea, people definitely need to relisten to all of Hikki's albums. They'll start to appreciate her voice, her music, her pvs....and so on a lot more. Hikki does take forever to release stuff but that's okay because I'm still hooked on her pervious albums and single songs. Believe it or not, on her Exodus album, I rediscovered her song Tippy Toe. I am sooo addicted to that song...again! XD

Another thing, Hikki is NOT with Avex! God, she isn't going to release like 123! SO be patient and quite all the whining about that. She doesn't release songs just to get a quick buck or that EMI forces her too. You shouldn't rush masterpieces anyway. Besides, Hikki has already put a prominient mark on the Japanese Music Industry and did it without shedding clothes, 'nuff said!!!

Yea, I'm anxious too but I believe that Stay Gold will have a little more by the following week or so. I think EMI or Hikki hasn't said much about it is because of the Shampoo CM hasn't aired yet (I think) plus Hikki prolly is gonna make a b-side song to Stay Gold.

I'm not gonna front and say that I'm not getting a little irritated with Hikki and EMI teasing us with the song though....they might need to move a little faster if they (EMI) don't want the song to lose any hype that it already has received.

One more thing, Hikki needs to make a PV for this new song or single. If she doesn't any disappointed or angry fans, she'll do the right thing and film a 'PV'!!! And would someone please, stop her from posting in her blog at Kuma! I wanna scream! I'm surprised that she hasn't started a children's clothing line with kuma as the little mascot! XD

oh god, that'd be interesting XD

ok, first love review!!!:

1. automatic - this song struck me in the heart the first time i listened to it. i remember when i first got my cd i brought my player to church (when mom had meetings) and i just played this on repeat for ever and ever and ever and ever...
2. movin' on without you - nice upbeat song, interesting too =3...i can't really say much after that
3. in my room - at first, i thought it was just an ok song. then i discovered my sister's hello kitty music box. it has a special place in my heart now (right next to the scar automatic gave me XD)
4. first love - my first hikki song...i think that pretty much sums it up =3 (my first cd got scratched =( so i asked my aunt to buy a new one for me XD how spoiled...it scratched on the first love part *sniffle*)
5. amai wana - the chorus is interesting...once again, i can't say much for this song...though it's kinda just there for me =\
6. time will tell - nice song to relax to. not much special though =( i feel guilty XD;
7. never let go - i actually did NOT remember the melody for this song till i relistened to the album again XD;;;;;;;
8. B&C - cute song. i really like it. alot
9. another chance - see never let go
10. intelude - cute...i might use it for my phone as a ringtone XD
11. give me a reason - honestly, the only thing i remember about this song would be the chorus XD
12. automatic (johnny vicious remix) - love it. i just do. love love love it =3

all the songs that i don't remember the melody for, they're NICE when you listen to them, but i mean, they're kinda forgettable otherwise *cringe*

overall, the album's very nice. i liked revisiting the 'past' =3

In the STAY GOLD preview Hikki sounds as though she's struggling to do a vibrato.. don't you think so LOL

I think she always struggle whenever she does vibrato... Just listen to Can You Keep A Secret?, and you will know what I mean (I got goosebumps in the first time when I heard the radio preview of CYKAS?... Her vibrato is just... too weird). That's one of the reasons I didn't really like Distance, as she's like tryin to prove that she can use vibrato. I'm so glad that she dropped this habit in DEEP RIVER...

It's just a personal point of view, but I dun think you will love the old ayu songs. I will use RAINBOW as a separation between her old and new songs era. Her recent music is so different compared to her old ones. To be honest I dun feel her soul within today's music at this moment. Not that I hate the songs (actually I like the songs in Secret), but she doesn't have magic like before...

I know I'm going through that stage again... During her I am... to RAINBOW era, I didn't really listen to ayu music at all. Yes I still played her music, but not like 20 times a day in her LOVEppears/Duty era. Then I overcame this situation when she released &. Now it's coming to a point that I dun play her music that often. (To tell you the truth.. I dun even know if I have heard talkin' 2 myself for more than 50 times since the release). But I guess now I've come to a point that I will buy her album anywayz no matter what (as I didn't buy I am...).

On the other hand... I dunno.. hikki's changing music so often as well, but somehow I feel like her songs have soul... The only period I forced myself to listen to her music is during the release of the Distance album. Once FINAL DISTANCE came out I was back to her music again..

Edit: I think I went a bit off again LOL. I quoted your message because I wanna talk about how wonderful ayu's songs during LOVEppears/Duty era.. But mind you, her music was much darker during that era. It would be hard to love her old works all of the sudden if you haven't listened to them yet.

I never thought she was struggling...I always just thought her voice was just like that. You can hear her vibrato in SO many songs after the Distance era, like Final Distance, Deep River, Hikari, Be My Last, Dareka no Negai ga Kanau Koro, etc...

I actually really like her strange vibrato

Yea, Secret was good but I felt is was sorta underrated....like she wasn't given her props for her hard work on it. I agree with you on Ayu not really putting her soul in her songs. It's like she's been fully influenced by AVEX now. WHAT HAPPENED TO AYU THAT WAS IN "OURSELVES," RIPPING UP THE A BEST PICS OR THE AYU WHO WANTED TO TALK MARIA....I WANT THAT AYU BACK! ToT

Yea, me neither...but I still like her today songs like Startin'....that was the song that me into Ayu....no lie! XD That song is second most played song in my ipod...even above Hikki! XDDD As for her LOVEppears/Duty era, I hadn't even listened to them. Idk...it just seems like that era was boring! Prove me wrong though! XD

You were forced?! XD Well, by me being such a big R&B fan, I had no problem with Distance. Addicted to You, Wait and See, and Can You Keep a Secret kept me entertained until I heard the whlole album. I wasn't blown away but it was hella good. The only song on there that really just blew me away was Drama. Hikki sanged her soul out on that song! Bleh...but in Deep River, she didn't live that up to expectation when she made Uso whatever I Love You!

Final Distance was so emotional that I almost cried when I heared it and PV didn't make any better. The PV was so so so....I can't find the word but I LUV that PV. I was surprised that MS didn't put that on their emotional songs list when had that 3 hour special last week or so. Flavor of Life was number nonetheless......FoL is not better than FD....c'mon now! XD

That was what someone else told on another forum...that I might not like ayu's older songs. But I listened to Trust and Depend on You and Idk...but she didn't sound sad to me!

@Sora: Here's my review of First Love:

1. Automatic - This song is the true queen of J-r&b songs! Take that Namie! XD (J/K) I WILL EVER BE IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG!

2. Movin' on Without You - Hmmm...it's a good dance song but nothing special....The PV wasn't good either! I prefer her UU06 version of it!!!

3. In My Room - I LUV IT! I LUV IT! I LUV IT! At first I didn't listen to it as much but then one day, I just decided to listen to it since I really have the urge to listen to any other Hikki song and viola......I fell in luv with it like that. I felt that this song definitely should have had a PV it! My....why didn't EMI make this a single...I'll never know!!!!

4. First Love - Although it's a very good ballad, it's kinda boring to me. This was on of my first Hikki songs, I really didn't listen to it as much and I still don't.....I like the PV though. Ummm.....I don't know why but I THINK THAT THIS SONG'S MELODY IS THE SAME MELODY OF ONE OF CEALINE DION'S SONGS!!!

5. Paint It ~Black~ - I LUV this song too. It's a good danced cheorgraphy song...if it was a made into a pv, than Hikki would have definitly needed to do a dance rountine to this song.

6. Time Will Tell- I JUST finished listening to this song. It's a really good karaoke song....I sing to it every time. The Dub's version was okay but I like the original version better.

7. Never Let Go - I don't listen to as much as did when I first heard the song. It's good....the melody made me think of Monica an Brandy (the singers) because it's seems like a song that those two would have made back in the day.

8. B&C- "Check Out MY Comment on Never Let Go!!!" XD

9. Another Chance - The chorus is really catchy.....I caught my singing it several times plus the melody is hard to get of you head too. XD

10. Interlude - Nice vocals Hikki used (of what you could hear) XD. I think she should have not made this into a song though...I didn't like it.

11. Give Me A Reason - I LUV this song. Again, I has a nice melody and it's relaxing too. Sometimes, I listen to this song to put me to sleep! XD The chorus IS catchy and hard to get out of your head. You'll definitly catch yourself singing it too!

12. Automatic (Johnny Vicious Remix) - WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY HER REMIX SONGS ARE SOOOO UNDERRATED??? I LUV LUV LUV this remix! It's definitely catchy, dancy, and you'll be putting it on repeat most of the time. Hikki has the best remixes to her songs......maybe she have done like Ayu and made a REMIX album because her remixes are hella good and crazy!

Overall: 5/5! The album is impressive. It's a must-listen to and if your crazy Hikki fan, than you'll definitely have or try to have this about in you Hikki collection!

I BET YOU GUYS HATE ME FOR MAKING THIS LOOOONG POST...

I wanna do a review of First Love as well! Here it is:

1. Automatic - This song is wonderful! Its lyrics are so touching and so cute. The composition as well makes for a great R&B song that was perfect for Hikki's debut.

2. Movin' on without you - This song is so fast-driven and really portrays what the song's emotions are all about really, really well. Also, it's really great to dance to! It's a good revenge-type song that I think is stronger than, say, "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson.

3. In My Room - This is such a chill song. I love how relatable it is to high school crushes and such things...it certainly brings back memories. It's really a nice head bopping song, don't you think?

4. First Love - Every artist I listen to has a song that makes me fall in love with him/her, and this is the song that did that for Hikki. This is such an emotional song, and I think it's so amazing that she wrote this at such a young age. The melody, the lyrics and her voice are all enough to make me cry.

5. Amai Wana~Paint It, Black~ - I love the intro to this song and how her fast-paced vocals follow it. This is the type of song I'd listen to on a roadtrip or something...it's so fun to listen to!

6. time will tell - This is the sweetest song on the album. The lyrics are so inspirational and uplifting. It's definitely one of my favorites from this album.

7. Never Let Go - I like the intro...and the music is very calm and chill. It's almost a sad song, because it's about not wanting to lose someone. However, I never really got into it as much as all the other songs. I still think it's pretty good, though.

8. B&C - I love, love, love this song! The lyrics are wonderful and the message is so sweet! I recommend watching her performance from her Hikaru no 5 tour.

9. Another Chance - This song is wonderful, and it really keeps the mood since it directly follows B&C. You can really feel Hikki's emotions in this song and that's what makes it so wonderful for me! I love listening to it.

10. Interlude - This is a really good interlude to set the mood from the previous fast-paced songs to...

11. Give Me A Reason - The intro is beautiful! This song is a perfect finale. It really displays the mood and the theme of young love that permeates throughout this album. It's one of my very favorites.

So, what did you think? I really want to listen to the other 3 albums now and review them. But I'll leave that for another day!

You know what I just realized? I remember when Kiss & Cry was released as a digital single in, like, May, or something and then it peaked in June, or something and it was going down and down and then Beautiful World was released a little later and it didn't catch on at Chaku-Uta and stuff and then everyone was like, "UGH OMG EMI HAS NO IDEA HOW TO PROMOTE AN ARTIST, THEY TOTALLY BLEW ALL THE POPULARITY HIKKI GAINED WITH FLAVOR OF LIFE fafDHSFKDSF""!!!!!11!1".
lols, it's only the second female single this year to sell over 200k and the other one is also by herself.
So I think it was a... success? OR MAYBE. If they hadn't joked around, it would have sold... 400k? :O :O :O :O :O

Spoiler:
you guessed it, i'm not always like this

Of course it was a success. I mean it has sold over 200k, and I'd consider that a success. And I wouldn't have it any other way, 'cos I got Hikki songs early.

Automatic is the best song of First Love!!! it's one of my hikki's most fav songs.
And I highly disagree that ayu's songs now don't sound like she put her soul into it, I think they sound like she put all her efforts into them, thing is she is just used to it so it seems like she doesn't make them special. And she's almost 10 years a singer...
ayu always put her soul into it and you can see it mainly on her lives ^_^.

Venus - Depend on you and Trust aren't sad songs... they're optimistic XD
Depend on you is my 2nd fav song in the whole world! I just love that song to death.

Hmmn... I dun really like the songs in A Song for XX (and I didn't buy this album either). appears brought me into ayu world. I tried to traced back to A Song for xx songs, but the only ones that I kinda like are poker face, YOU.

Probly the arrangement? BLUE BIRD sounds like fairyland, and now glitter sounds like BLUE BIRD. During I am... to RAINBOW she was sorta recycling the music as well (M vs. Free & Easy for example), but at least I can hear different arrangement.

I really wish... (what's the name of talkin' 2 myself's B-side?... ahh, it's) decision is the A-side cuz the music and the arrangement of the song sounds better. (You see I can't even remember her song immediately today). I guess I'm waiting for another Memorial address to grab me back into the core of ayu's world . (Not saying I want another song sounds like Memorial address... but I just want another album that has similar magic).

OK back to hikki. I'm not gonna give each song (on the First LOVE album) particular comments cuz I simple love every song on it. All I can say is I loved Automatic/First Love the most. Now I'm sick of it cuz I've been playing them for too much... (probly 10 - 20 times per each song per day back in the old days)

Dun get me wrong I do love her Addicted To You, For You, TAIMU LIMITO, CYKAS?, etc. I just dun think her album songs are that great in Distance. I would think her album songs in DEEP RIVER are the best. Each song is quite unique from another yet they blend in as an album. Although I did say that I dun love one or two songs in the album, it's still shocking me to heaven everytime I listen to this album.
