Whoa whoa. Calm down. Just trying to help you get the title right. Not trying to change your opinion of the song which is clearly obvious. Star Wars wasn't the point either.

*Sigh*

I liked that cover as well. I really luved her rendition of Boulvard of Broken Dreams and yea, I was shocked when she said the f-word. I had to rewind the clip a few times to make sure I was hearing right. lol And for some funny reason, I liked her cover of Take Me On. *forgot the original artist name*

Hikki was and is a powerful artist indeed. I just hate that her vocals are what that use to be. Hikki use to have great control over her notes and everything....but too bad they aren't like that anymore. Did she really damage her vocal cords @ UU06? (O_o)

^ I loved the Boulevard of Broken Dreams performance!
I loved the way she sang it, and I wasn't too big a fan of the original by Green Day >.>;
She also sang Passion right after that huh?

I have no idea what happened to Hikki's vocals!!! Her notes are out of control now, unlike before ;_; But she will always be the strongest performer to me <3 Her lives before sounded EXACTLY like the CD itself o_o; It was amazing.

But it is weird how after UU06 her vocals went down the drain(but they're still good, just lack of voice control). Usually something like that would go away after...what say, a month or two? I have no idea but Ayu's always seem to recover nicely after big tours.

I liked her Passion live as well. I thought her Deep River live was one of her most impressive lives of all.

Phew! I'm glad I'm not the only who thinks that. *was afraid that I might get attacked. lol* Its not only her vocals but her breathing as well. After listening to PoL many times, I found that she took many breaths after saying a line and inbetween a word (i.e. I'm a Prisoner of Love -breaths- I'm a Prisoner of Looooove -big breath-) I hate it when people say her vocals were never great especially when they base her vocals off UB. Of course she isn't that good now but Hikki could sing her butt especially in Exodus. I think that was her most impressive vocal period.

I read from a few posters that she was advised to get surgery on her thoat but she declined it. IMO, she should have at least got a little vocal training. I hate to say it but, I think Hikki has forgotten how to control her vocals.

Utada Sounds Great to me still, Vocal Control and all. Her very first Live Performance of "HEART STATION" was Flawless.

Not to mention her MUSIC LOVERS performances (The Best of the HEART STATION Period in my Opinion), even with the Allergies/etc. were PERFECT for all 4 of the songs that she performed. Her vocals matched the Album to a "T".

I got to see the Passion performance when I got my 'Utada Hikaru Single Clip Collection VOL.4' It came with two disks and I was like, YEAH! XD
It's the very first Utada Hikaru PV collection I got I gave up on other artists because their DVD's would never play on my dang DVD player. It was region code 2 But Hikki's DVD's were US compatible!
I enjoyed watching her PV's on my TV *_* It was...strange xD

!!!! Yes! Her breathing too! I thought I was the only one who thought that O_<; But yeah, that too. I have no idea what's wrong but it's alright....I love Hikki the same no matter how bad she gets. She will always be my Queen of Jpop and R&B!(no one can beat her at R&B )
GR! When I hear people say her lives were horrible in the past, I get super mega mad! No other artist even got close to her amazing lives. She was the best I knew o.o;
Hm, Exodus was a great era for her I loved it, and I;m hoping her new English album will be just as good! I want to see the cover! >.<; &I hope she will be able to get more promotion this time

Eh? Surgery on her throat?! I never knew
But I can understand why she declined. There's always high risks involved if you get surgery on your throat. You can totally loose your voice >.>;
But I wonder why she needed it in the first place? Unless it was just a rumor.

Utada Hikaru actually did get brief vocal lessons when she was younger. Don't think it helped her much though.

Ain't that the truth. She would either need some serious electronic help in the studio (which I'm sure she already has considering the way she sounds live), or another person entirely to sing her piece.

Good News.

On Japan iTunes, Utada is right back up in the #2 Position on the Albums Chart again right after being bumped down to #3 just a day or 2 ago. Whatever came in and bumped Utada and Madonna down, it's long gone now. I can't even remember what it was. Doesn't seem to be anywhere on the Chart anymore from 1 to 10. Hmmm....Peculiar (Maybe it was a mistake?). Also, Utada is back up in the #2 Position on the Singles Chart as well. Good Stuff. Indeed.

Okay after disliking utada for quite a while, I finally gave HEART STATION a listen, and I must say this is an awesome album, my favorites are Flavor of life <3, HEART STATION, Beautiful World, Take 5, and Kiss & Cry.
Anyone kind enough to give me recommendations based on the songs I've liked so I can check out her previous works?
Oh, I like Passion and Hikari too.

Well when exactly did you stop liking her and thus stopped listening to her?

If you didn't try out ULTRA BLUE, definitely get that. HEART STATION is basically an evolved version of ULTRA BLUE. More refined and matured and the like. Cheers.

I actually find ULTRA BLUE way easier to connect with (or it's just my personal preference =P because I think that UB is way better than HS) with such songs like Passion, This Is Love, Keep Tryin', Be My Last etc.
Winners. HEART STATION has some awesome songs but don't know... this album wasn't "magical" to me as UB. I love it, but UB wins for me.

If you liked "Kiss & Cry" and "Heart Station", you might like Distance, specifically "Wait & See", "Addicted To You" or "For You". "Beautiful World" and "Teiku 5" remind me a great deal of ULTRA BLUE, and I specifically recommend "Making Love" and "This Is Love". You would also certainly love "First Love" if you are a "Flavor of Life" fan
