That's her thing to figure out, not mine. She has the groundworks to go into a billion different styles. She has the voice type to pull off a billion different styles.

That may be true, she does have a versatile voice for many different genres, but maybe that bores her? She does like to mix it up, even if it does become predictable to some, but that's her as an artist I think. I think she would get straight up bored just doing one style.
People come and go in popularity, look at Namie as an example, so I'm not worried about kuu. |

...Anyways.
This album is so fresh and diverse! You can tell she really tried to pick quality songs since there are only maybe 2-3 filler tracks (Brave, Everyday, and maybe You are not alone). The album kind of has a Dejavu vibe to it, but other than that, it's totally fresh music from Kuu! GOOD JOB KUU BBY |

It's killing me that the album leaked and I'm stuck at work for another hour lol. I listened to boom boom boys last night and I'm addicted to the song already.

I spent like an hour typing up all of my reviews on each song...Than lost them. LOL But to save time I am not going to write them again, for basically what I wrote, all I need to show is this:

No Man's Land Chorus is really good. The whole song doesn't really have a climax but it's really great.

Yeah, it sounds like she's saying 'rape you' in the bridge, which I'm sincerely hoping isn't what the lyrics are

Random question thrown into all the Japonesque love, what is a clear file? It said on CD Japan it was a bonus with First Press. I know its sold out, I'm just curious...

I will definitely get a copy of it. Just.
None of the songs seems like a filler, the weakest may be "Everyday", but even so, I didn't hate it like many other songs of her past albums. There's the highlights: So Nice, Boom Boom Boys, VIP, Love Me Back, No Mans Land, Lay Down and the surprising Love Technique (I usually hate this kind of song, but this one it's so fu***** enjoyable) But in all, it's her best album, you hardly want to skip any song and we have a variety of genres... it's just so good that she's going to have a hiatus releasing this material before ^_^ ps: I can finally hear YANA, the "happier" version is just a trash, and now loving it ♥ oh, and I deleted the VIP with T-Pain, WTF to it... xD Last edited by jyujiw; 22nd January 2012 at 04:06 AM. |

I dont think I've heard an intro and interlude so true to the concept of the album. It's incredible how the interlude splits the album without giving u that feeling that its two separate side of the album. The introduction is just fantastic. both 10
So Nice: It's been a LONG LONG time Kuu and i'm digging this!! Though the chorus seems more like repeating lines..not so much of a melody but the music is TOP MATERIAL. 9 Boom Boom Boys: ok wow. now I know whats the big fuss about the "Kikasete DJ"..in my mind, i was like "OH YEAH she did not just do that!!!!" and there i was rocking to the whole track already. I love the changes in the music. The production is amazing. 9.5 Slow feat. Omarion: Oh this just blows Passing By (which i honestly didnt like..because there was so little Kuu). It kinda...mixes No Way with Okay but it's just so nice (no pun intended)!! Feels like a western r&b ballad but definitely in the right way. Kuu's no stranger to such ballads 9.5 Brave: This does feel very nice and familiar from the Kuu we all know. I think this feels more right to listen anyday because it isnt like stay with me, which is more x-mas-y. I love the bridge. 7.5 Everyday: I actually quite enjoy this. (at least for now). It sounds like Kuu's b-sides but it does beat most of them and even her other album tracks which are in the same category. I love the "öoh ooh ooh" parts hahah 7 ESCALATE: I was thinking this might be the next TABOO or..a fun dance track but the lack of a melodic chorus does take away a bit of the like for this track. It's a lil short. The music, on the other hand, is fantastic. It's very strong and im looking forward to the PV 8 No Man's Land: THIS.IS.AWESOME!!! Probably one of Kuu's best tracks ever definitely. There's rap, melody, softness and hard all in one track. And it definitely feels dark ![]() Lay Down: I love the verses very much for this track ![]() ![]() Love Technique: WOW this is such a surprise!! the part before the chorus is so catchy! Im loving this. Definitely one of her best...cute(?) songs. 9.5 All for you: I would die for an actual studio or live audio version. It feels so raw I actually find it very sincere and beautiful. I think this song would sound so good live. The lyrics also seem meaningful from what I picked up. This feels like a rip from a youtube clip too ahhaha 8 V.I.P. feat. T-Pain: not going into my iPod. using the original ![]() Ai wo Tomenaide: This actually grew on me. hahaha..it's better than Brave now that I've heard it. 8 Poppin'love cocktail: Still loving this. 9.5 KO-SO-KO-SO: 10 ![]() IN THE AIR: 10 Love Me Back: this song feels so fitting in this album it sounds better ![]() You are not alone (Acoustic): I really like this song now. 9 ====== amazing amazing production. What i LOVE is the effort they put in to even include music at the end like in BBB and Brave..it makes the song feel more complete rather than just cutting it off abruptly or fading out. and every song has their own character which makes it very good. THough at the moment, Lay Down and ESCALATE are confusing me hahahah AWESOME KUU!!!!!!!!!! so glad im buying this ![]() Last edited by freedreamer; 22nd January 2012 at 06:35 AM. |

Introduction ~JAPONESQUE~ - Pretty good intro. Liked it. 3.5/5
So Nice feat. Mr. Blistah - Sounds awesome, the beats, the arrangement. Not a fan of the chorus though, maybe it'll grow on me soon but for now, nahhh. 3.5/5 Boom Boom Boys - LOOOOVED IT!! Not flawless but pretty damn amazing! 4/5 V.I.P. feat. T-Pain (Album Version) - His rap is just... Yuck. The song was flawless, why change something that's already good? 4/5 (would've been a 5) Slow feat. Omarion - Autotune can get kinda annoying at times but the song's pretty good. Love the mood of it. 4/5 Brave - I'm a sucker for Kuu ballads and this is probably one of her best ones for me. Definitely one of the highlights of this album. 5/5 Everyday - Reminds me of Himitsu, which I don't like. Skippable. 2/5 You are not alone (Acoustic Version) - Am I the only one who prefers the one on the single? ![]() Interlude ~JAPONESQUE~ - This is really great!! I don't usually feel so passionate about an interlude but I really loved this one!! 4.5/5 ESCALATE - Hot hot hot!! Wish that it would be slightly faster though. 4/5 No Mans Land - Another highlight of the album for me. This track is just so amazing. 5/5 Lay Down - A grower. Not a fan of it yet. 3/5 Love Technique - I thought I was gonna hate this one because I hated the preview. But I actually loved it! It's such a fun song. 4.5/5 All for you - Heartfelt and beautiful. Loved the idea of the whole raw studio recording/quality. She sounds great too. 4/5 Album - 4.5/5 Most of the album seems to be on point here. All of the single tracks were awesome too. Loved it!!
