ayu should go on hiatus. I know she's still young but 3 concerts, various live performances, and an album every year must really be stressful. Besides I have a feeling that if she did take one, she'd come back and blow us out of the water with fresh new ideas.

There's always a risk behind every decission.

She should at least just have her realeses with more breaks.

I don't know if Ayu even WANTS a hiatus. I mean, she basically lives for her fans. I think she would go insane if she wasn't occupying her time doing something regarding music xD.

I think her fans would go insane too. I mean we're up to our seventh thread about "i want the new single, i want the new single, i want the new single" "I can't wait, all this wait is driving me crazy!" and "come on!!! new covers!!" If ayu ever went on hiatus, people would be up a wall. They're just so used to her, a bit too quick, release patterns.

A bit random but I think ayu would be a good poet. Her song lyrics are already poetry. She should release a poetry book.

She doesn't live for her fans but for music. As she said in Talk Asia interview in 2006 "Music is my life & my life is music"

ayu has constantly been like this. Anyhow taking a break never garuntees fresh new ideas or good ones. I dunno where that misconception often comes in
I wouldn't mind her taking a bit of a break, but a long haitus doesn't seem like her. Unless she wanted a family or something of the like. But those are her decisions too and none of us know her that personally and can really say what's completely good for her. I think she knows her limit (I hope).
Ill go along with what she's doing as she's quite good at making great choices imo.

I think fans should really be appreciative of all the effort she's putting into this. Current project/projects(I guess). I'm quite happy for our dear ayu

And now I just really wanna see more info on L. Or even a preview of SEVEN DAYS WAR

@Picaflor: yes ayu is like crack to some of us. And with some of us losing precious artists or having them go on haitus this year. Ayu doing the same would be horrific. To me I know definitely cuz I quite depend on her music and her energy

It's true, but a break (6 or 8 months) and not an hiatus is better IMO.

namie has like a year break before having a new single, if that's what the user meant.

example:
60s/70s/80s = 2008
WILD/Dr. = 2009
Break It/Get Myself Back = 2010

she releases one single a year (at least since 2008), and then an album every 2 years. i think that's a long wait compared to ayu

but yea, if that user meant utada instead of namie, then..ignore me

^she does take forever with stuff like that I will admit... Still seems pretty average with what a lot of western artists do.

If ayumi went on hiatus I really don't know what I'd do. I would be very sad though. I love her frequent release patterns. I don't even think she wants a hiatus, I think that whole idea is created by fans.

ill just take that time to learn the lyrics to all her songs XP
