newbie here! So i have all of kuu's discography on my hdd BUT I never have the time to listen to it all and only know some songs. When I want to get to know her better I never know where to start, so I was looking for some suggestions?
I'm a sucker for ballads but I never found one I liked from kuu. So if anyone wanted to suggest one please douzo (not sukidesukidesukide, hate it ;  I love all of her upbeat and sexy songs like from japonesque: so nice, boom boom boys, VIP, KO-SO KO-SO, poppin' love cocktail. From dejavu: pop diva, lollipop, AT THE WEEKEND, bambi. I also like TABOO, cutie honey, chase. These are pretty much the only ones I know  Please suggest something!!!

Let the smokin'-sexy-yet-super-adorable-in-a-very-disturbing-way powah of Kuu blow you away! <3 I know very well where you come from with Suki de X3 (I hated it with all the power of my soul). I would suggest This is not a love song and Moon Crying from TRICK (check the live version of Moon Crying from UNIVERSE, it's gorgeous) and Aishou and MORE from Kingdom), but her best ballads for me are on her early works (Hana, Rain, Gentle Words from Feel My Mind; Hands, Believe, Through The Sky from secret; and Grown Into One is a whole piece of perfection imo.) Another place to find good ballads is ETERNITY -Love & Songs- cover album.

I suggest to start with secret-first things-second sessions
really great ballads (hands, you) and sexy songs (trust you, ddd, candy) i recommend to watch the PVs alongside, or at least live performances

You want some suggestions for great Kuu ballads?
My absolutely favourite ballad is 運命(Unmei) from her album Black Cherry. Masterpiece! Also Moon Crying from TRICK and あなただけが(Anata dake ga) from Dejavu, 愛証(Aishou) from Kingdom. I personally also love Ai wo tomenaide from JAPONESQUE, but you probably know that one. Apart from that, most great ballads are on her earlier works. My suggestions - Gentle Words, Rain, Taisetsu na kimi e, hands, you and of course walk. Also 0時前のツンデレラ - it's a cover from her sister's song, but it's so gorgeous.

Promise, hands, you and Yume no Uta are my all time favorites ballads from Kumi.
feel is also great and quite unique in her discography. imo Kumi best period is 2005-2006, so like thinkingoutloud89, you should try secret, BEST ~first things~, BEST ~second session~ and Black Cherry. |

lol that was cheesy... actually I started out with Hot Stuff and Butterfly bakc in 2005 when I was only able to grab LQ PVs (exciting time). To me (like every "idol" performer) she is a very visual artist, but once you like her you can appricate her as an artist. tbqh, out of all female singers she gives the most exciting live tours, as she has great slkills in the vocal, move and looks section.

Always from TABOO, single. A catchy mid-tempo ballad-esque b-side hit - Fun to sing along to! One of my favorites! Driving from TRICK, album. The. Best. Song. EVER. Love goes like... and DDD from Best second session album. Sexy urban-pop Ku at her BEST! GET UP & MOVE!! from Black Cherry, album. Seriously, my jaw dropped. The perfect fusion of urban-pop Ku and dance. Ai no uta (urban kiss version) from ai no uta, single - trust me, it's 10 times better than original. I can't stand original but love this version.
