Media was also ridiculous in claiming that she did not care about her son just because of the fact that she did not want to become a house wife forever and continue doing what she liked... I'm glad she was able to overcome such prejudice...

No, tomiko was implying that Namie didn't care about her fans according to the video, and comparing to how Ayu reacts to her fans, which is not understandable really as Namie did nothing rude. Like I said, everyone has their own way of showing appreciation. She was also claiming that she has a track record of being a diva when I have never heard of such a thing, especially a track record...

Although there are just some things you just don't do, like play her DS games, or snap photos of her son

I think that if Namie is a "diva" it's probably because people misinterpret her personality.

I wouldn't think she's overly shy - at least not to the point that it would interfere with her interactions with other people - rather I think that she's probably just not a readily open person. Meaning that whenever she meets someone new she probably doesn't act super-duper friendly because she'd rather get a sense of who they are first. And if she feels comfortable with them and, for lack of a better word, "accepts" them, then she'll open up.

It also wouldn't surprise me too if maybe she just feels more comfortable interacting with employees and associates (dancers, stylists, etc.) in a formal business manner ("We're here to do a job. So let's do it!").

At least that's what I think since I've often been told that I can put people off or make them feel uncomfortable because I'm not very talkative or animated when I first meet them. I'm more of a listener.

YES you hit the nail on the head and thank you so much for this post. Namie has said the same things about herself that you are saying here. IDK why I just didn't type out what you said. But you basically just got the point of what I wanted to say. People that think she's cold, or unfriendly, really don't get her at all. She's said she can come off that way because she's not the most openly sociable of persons, and that she has to get to know someone first... and also that when you get to know her, she can be the craziest person ever. It was actually the same with me when I was younger, so I can relate to her in that aspect. First impressions are actually NOT everything.

uhm some of the pictures are kinda blurry because i didn't want to ruin my photobook in order to get good quility scans T_T

oh yah they ended up quite big after i scanned them so it might take some time to load them

my favorites are probably the one with the encore outfit from play tour '07. she looks so happy in them

Being in my 20's and going through a lot in life (raising a child) I have to be frank. People interpret certain aspects of situations differently and have different opinions. That's life. That's what makes individuals unique. You'll learn that as you get older and meet people from all walks of life. Anyone could of interpreted her behavior in the video as being "uncouth" even if you are a fan. I showed the video to my sister-in-law (who is a namie fan) and my brother (who is not a fan) just to prove my theory and they both assumed what tomiko did. I never assumed such behavior but that is besides the point.

Let people have their opinions and ignore them. You'll have to learn that to get by in the world. No use in being at variance with them because you'll just steep down to their level of maturity. Let people be biased and drown in their own ignorance. We are all guilty of it. It's the way of the world and it will be this way until the end of time.

While I don't really dissagree with what you've said I still stand by what I and what other people have said in regards to the diva thing. And being on a forum, posts are liable for questioning especially when one claims to have done their research when it doesn't exactly seem so and then that person reacts in a defensive way. I can't help but like to throw in my two cents. It's not like I was flaming anybody.
