Pretty much ever cover or video some mentioned on the last page... I also love. haha

traveling is one of the best single covers she's ever done! I love Hikari for it simplicity though and SAKURA Drops is great too. I think Hikki's best cover is by far the ULTRA BLUE cover. That cover is amazzzing.

I think i like deep river the most. i love the simplicity of it. and the sadness and depression you get from her staring at you (not like she doesn't do that on every cover). ultra blue is my second favorite cover, but it kind of looks like she's out of it.

"it was unlike any other Single Cover she had done before" = pretty

I love the DEEP RIVER cover, however I feel it doesn't match the album.

When I just became a fan (Exodus~Ultra Blue era), I only knew the singles from DR (sakura drops, hikari, etc). And until I actually listened to the full album, I thought it was a depressing album because of the cover I was so wrong, that album needs a colorful cover! (but the monochrome cover is really nice though, it just doesn't fit the songs inmho)

And Ultra Blue is perfection. I also love the Heart Station cover, no matter how boy-ish she looks, I love it.

I think the DEEP RIVER cover is not about depression. Rather, it really showed the theme of the album. It's kinda like an upgrading from her previous work. Also, the monotone creates a feeling that "this album must have deep meaning within", and inside this monotone layer it's a colorful world within. That's how I feel about the album.

For me, the initial feeling at the very first moment of "touching" the album is really important to me (i.e., the moment the cover is released, the moment when I first get the album on hand, listen the songs). I wasn't there when she released First Love (well.. I only became her fan in July 1999). But after that every time she released a "new" album, I had the chance to get those initial feelings. By far DR gave me the strongest feeling. It's like I'm swimming towards a world surrounded by monotone walls, yet when I entered the world, everything was so vivid.

My initial feeling towards the other albums:

Distance - well.. kinda boring. I think she's trying to follow First Love trend (R&B), but it's a bit too commercial somehow.
ULTRA BLUE - I think she made the album too complicated. Not that I dun like the idea, but it's difficult to listen sometimes.
HEART STATION - The total opposite of UB, yet they both used synth instruments. I like the calmness, and it has its thoughts as well.

The traveling cover is amazing! I love it. So trippy and futuristic.
I must admit I also liked the Easy Breezy cover. Lol.

I tried listening to UB and got... lost. I'll try again another day but I'll need a compass, a flashlight, and the DEEP RIVER album to reel me back in just in case of complications.

This. This. This!

I totally agree. It's like each song inside is a different "color" of the album.

I want kiriya back. All his mvs were amazing...I don't want another hikari though (a couple yrs ago, I made up any excuse to cakk that great. But now its just a sucky mv. Can't I just watch desperate housewives to see a girl in the kitchen)
Another Final Distance would be the best. It was just amazing
Sakura Drops was visually beautiful and stunning
YMMWTBAM had a lovely little meaning too
And he's just awesome in that sense
Just no more hikaris, hikki. Its simplistic, yes, but so is PoL and its muuuuch better

Mmm I miss the stunning and creative hikki mvs T.T no more COLORS, Be My Last....
Be My Last could make me cry.... CBTM can't at all

They were playing a remix of Come Back To Me at Mandee's today when I went shopping. A few people were bobbing their heads to it

I think they said they wanted a complex video, but they were on a tight schedule and only had time to do something really quick and simple. plus, it kind of makes sense with the lyrics, and the way the song is. light, simple and clean ^^, easy going. but i agree, definitely not one of my favorite videos.

@picaflor: lol. U see. That I know. Yet I still wished they wouldve done something else. It is what it is though. Most artists havethose not so amazing music videos *cringes thinking of vids worse than that*

Actually hikki wanna work with Donald Cameron (who directed her COLORS pv eventually), but somehow it didn't work (schedule conflict?), so kiriya was "summoned" in the end and all they could do was to wash dishes... .

You know.. I kinda admire her courage. If I was an artist, I would never have dared to release a PV of me washing dishes. And she got away with it!! amazing.

^__^tee~hee I'm sure hikki will forever get away with whatever she wants.....she's Utada Hikaru. The legendary princess (now I wonder why she doesn't have a title )
Everyone can just pretend that didn't exist or pretend to love it. Or just love it cuz hikki washing dishes is sooo hot

But it is brave. ^___^ Seriously though. I thought hikki writing the Workout was brave. But no one really cares...we all love her (right, guys?). (Tbh I'm expecting an S&M song on the next english album the way she is)
Hikki's real. Its expected. U can't bother her for being real right? Including washing dishes. Some artists aren't so lucky XD (poor things)
I really don't think anyone cares what hikki does as longs as its her. Hikki. Were seeing ^____^

I love the concept of the pv, and it's cute to see hikki washing dishes. But I gotta say I got shocked by the video mainly because of the way she washed the stuff.... She must be a person who doesn't do housework (at least before 2002). She didn't rub the stuff thoroughly, she didn't rinse the dishes enough, and she didn't clean the glass she used (well... she didn't rub the area where her lips contacted).

Yeah.. she sucks at washing dishes.. LOL..

I 100% agree with this. Hikki is real. When I'm listening to her music, I know she created it and I know it's from her heart.

The Workout shocked me back in the days though, it really did! But now I embrace it as a different side of Hikki, the side that gave me one of my favorite songs Dirty Desire!
