What bothers me is the size of the video. 15 years ago was not the same size as now..

Nobody would be defending this if it were any other artist...

I don't mind that she wants to do a tribute or something like that to celebrate the anniversary of her best selling album, but everything about this release so far has been lazy from start to finish.

To now call it a 'new album' when there's ZERO new material on it? When it has the exact same content on it as the original album? I would have thought she had a bit more self-respect than that. =/

Actually I think it would have been really cool if she'd actually reshoot the exact same CM, or maybe recreate one of her music videos, for the purpose of this release. At least there'd be something extra special about this.

Yeah, just like she could have reshoot the cover and so on. This release had so much potential but they just went "let's remaster the songs and ask random people to comment Ayu's career in a special book", the only really nice thing is handwritten lyrics. I don't get why Ayu seems so "excited" about this release, posting an instagram picture everyday about A BEST, sure she has the right to be proud of that release but still. It's not like she did anything herself to make this release super special.
I hope the remastering is noticeable, like really, not just when you have expensive earbuds on.

I think ayu can't do for this release as much as she did at 2001
and avex don't want to spend any extra money on this, everyone understand that profit will not be the same

Hm... when it comes to rereleases in Japan, this is very standard. However, I would expect more effort if she were redoing everything COMPLETELY.

This isn't being made to move millions of copies, this is made to sell over-priced stuff to collectors and to give people who still doesn't have the original one a new oportunity of owning it. It will most likely move as much copies as Terminal.

The promotional effort is minimal because this is a legacy release, and those usually sell very little.

IMO, I think this is partly being made because A BEST keeps doing incredibly well on those download charts EVERY YEAR.

Are the phone copies counted? That is still pretty low for digital sales if she is doing so well on that chart all the time.

Aren't phone copies also certified once they reach 100k? A Best still has no digital certification.
