Great, let's hope it will get subbed then. Taiga dramas aren't easy to follow without subs. They are historical, with difficult terms and dialects. Even with good Japanese knowledge it can sometime be difficult. I believe the first episode RAW video of "Taira no Kiyomori" will show up on D-Addicts either 9th or 10th January.
Check out the complete set list from the yesterday Countdown concert below. As we witnessed in the Kouhaku broadcast, it seems she can still pull off sold out events. What did everyone think of the Kouhaku duet? Sayaka's pretty good right, she has gained lots of experience as a musical actress. I wonder if she ever felt awkward to sing with her mother in the past. They have sung together on countless occasions, but this was the first time live on TV. Quote:

the Kouhaku live was so amazing. Both dresses are so pretty. It's really nice to see the bond between Sayaka & Seiko.
The tracklist is nice. Can't wait to see the outfits. ^o^ |

Taira no Kiyomori first episode screencaps, took a few of these quickly as I am supposed to be asleep ages ago. It was quite a sad but grand opening episode (as expected for Taiga). Seiko's character appeared more frequently than I thought too. Definitely liked what I saw so far. Will follow this series, although without subs, it will be hard to grasp the full story line as it progress.
On a side note, I have to watch some dramas with Fukiishi Kazue, she portrayed the mother of "Taira no Kiyomori" well. Was impressed. The RAW is not out yet. Let's hope it will be uploaded by someone else soon.

BIRTHDAY POST
Tomorrow is the big day! It will be 50 years since she was born. Last year was horrible with the countless foreshocks and the main Touhoku incident a day later. Wasn't a peaceful celebration. This year is without a doubt better. Happy 50th Birthday, Seiko!
![]() ![]() Yoshimi Iwasaki and Seiko, 30 years ago. I have prepared some rare scans from the early years of 60's and 70's. We are talking about the pre-debut era here. The 50th birthday is special after all. These are not to be shared elsewhere and all credit goes to me! No color photos available of these I am afraid. Also, it's unfortunate but my scanner equipment is not that high-tech. Click the spoiler to see. Spoiler:
![]() Summer concert tour '83 rehearsals. Seiko is back in Taira no Kiyomori starting episode 9. In case you are watching it and wondered about where she disappeared to. I am impressed by the amount of "outdoor" scenes. It's one thing I missed in the previous years taiga. Just wish they would use a bit more color, it has kind of gloomy feel to it the way it is now, although it might have improved a bit in the later episodes. The first five episodes are English subtitled. Oh, and if she decides to tour a lot this upcoming summer, then chances are she will break 100 appearances at the legendary Nippon Budokan arena. It's a milestone none other female performer/singer yet reached. ![]() Small poster at an exhibition held in Kobe the other day. |

I always forget she's older than she looks. Happy birthday, Seiko~ ^^
Hmm, I guess I haven't posted here before. Oh well, few months ago I went and downloaded some of her albums and listened those through. Most of those albums are released in the 80s and I'm still missing most of them but I can say that her music isn't too bad. I should search for the missing albums too I think although she has released quite a lot of those o_o And I think that as of now Nouvelle Vague 1992 is my favorite album. I really love that album. It was just amazing. Also My pure melody was great~

70 singles is a great accomplishment and sign of a successful career, but you have to keep in mind that she has been releasing stuff for 32 years now.
For example, Ayumi's pace of releasing singles is much more rapid... at 50 in 14 years. In news, the initial dates for the summer concert tour 2012 were announced yesterday. Nine days of performing only thus far, that is two less than last years tour, but they might add more later. It has recently become a habit to end the tour at home it seems. +2 at Budokan which totals it up to an impressive 98 appearances. Check the dates below: SEIKO MATSUDA CONCERT TOUR 2012 |

Music Station SP
Music Station held a Best Selection of Spring Songs 100 ranking special yesterday. Seiko was the only 70s-80s singer to have three songs on the list.
This was a poll where people voted, so it shows her popularity still today. 67. Cherry Blossom 47. Seifuku 17. Akai Sweet Pea ![]() http://www.mediafire.com/?a73i558vv1wf3g3 Here is a cut. Akai Sweet Pea performances are always beautiful.

70th single title?
The rumored title for the upcoming single is 涙のしずく (Namida no Shizuku ; Teardrops). It was posted at a fansite BBS, but by the same user who knew the b-side title of Seiko's previous single well before it was announced. HMV, Amazon or CDJapan have yet to add any info about the single to their pages.
