^ even if the movie sucks i don't really see why everyone's worried about it negatively impacting ayu's career. i mean it's not her fault the movie stinks (if it does). she didn't think of it or direct it so...? she just sang the theme song

i mean worse case, the movie just doesn't help her single sell more than it would normally.

People make a big deal over an issue that means nothing. There been ton of crappy movies with artists that contributed songs to its soundtrack. Its never negatively impacted them since their songs just have a tie-in with the movie and they aren't involved in production of the movie.

I agree. In the end this was a great opportunity for Ayu and she did well to take it. It's rare that a Japanese artist gets to sing in an international movie and that's a great thing regardless of the quality of the movie.

Ha, what I'm worried about the movie sucking is that people will associate Ayu (especially people who only knew her from the movie) with the bad movie... and the discussion would more likely gear towards 'bad script, bad acting blah blah...', and in the end, it doesn't benefit Ayu at all.

The good thing I can see from this movie being horrendous is that 'Rule' will stand out MUCH MORE.

We covered this earlier, theres no association and no negative effects. Example, all the artists that contributed to the soundtrack of the Godzilla American remake never suffered from that crappy movie

Well then that's good to know! If Dragon Ball (the anime) was shown on TV almost everywhere, then I'm sure the movie would definitely be quite popular. And I don't know why I'm judging the movie before I've even watched it... But I hope they'll benefit each other.

And I'm really glad that the Rule PV didn't have snippets of the movie unlike many other movie tie-in PVs!

The anime was shown almost everywhere (even here, though the dub was hilarious and I could never take it seriously). And I wouldn't worry, people who already hate the movie are 1)Dragon ball fans 2)people who hate American films and don't like the fact that they're covering a Japanese manga/anime. The others simply have no reason to hate it I think that the single might sell less than Days/GREEN but it shouldn't go under glitter/fated's numbers hopefully.
