I just watched the Mahou no Melody PV & oh wow , easily Tegomass's most entertaining PV to date =DD
I was a bit shocked to see Tegoshi wearing eyeliner & also some tacky cross earrings ? o_O eew , he's already so tranny & doing both is not helping him in any way ~_~ Masuda's really adorable & I can't help but feel that his glum expression in the PV is really cute @_@ The PV just makes Mahou no Melody so much more nicer than ever before , I can't wait for Tegomass no Mahou to get released soon ! Let alone having a physical copy in my hands too ;D

oh that's a pretty sad news, they were the only 2 I was looking for.. Well I still hope NEWS will release new music as a 4 members unit in the future... ;_;
But now that Yamapi's gone, I guess they won't sell very well..

Then again I kinda expected this to happen to them sooner or later but still can't help but feel very sad for them being together for 8 years is no laughing matter ._. & the fact that Yamapi & Ryo bring in the bulk of fans for the group & now they're officially left , well , I don't need to say anything further

I'm really shocked about this. I just woke up, checked on Twitter and found out that NEWS is going down to four.
Now we've got this: five members left - one left immediately, two left because of underage drinking scandal, and now another two left because of different interests and pursuing activities... ...and now we're down to four: Keiichiro Koyama, Shigeaki Kato and the Tegomass duo (Yuya Tegoshi and Takahisa Masuda). I just can't comment any further other than "wish the two well on their future Johnny's activities." |

Yamashita Tomohisa & Nishikido Ryo withdraw from NEWS
On October 7th, Johnny & Associates Inc. announced that two NEWS members, Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo, withdrew from the group on the same day. Yamashita will pursue his solo activities, and Nishikido will focus on his activities in Kanjani∞. Consequently, NEWS will continue their activities with four members: Koyama Keiichiro, Kato Shigeaki, Masuda Takahisa, and Tegoshi Yuya. Yamashita commented, “It will be a challenge all on my own from now on. There may be inconvenient or hard things which I have never felt before, however, I would like to strive in every project with the precious experiences that I received with NEWS.” Koyama who will stay in NEWS, commented positively, “Although we will be going on different paths, the four members of NEWS will continue the legacy of the eight years we walked together.” Nishikido, who belonged to both Kanjani∞ and NEWS, revealed that the reason behind his withdrawal was that his schedule adjustments for both groups didn’t work well. Tomohisa Yamashita: “One of my biggest achievements has been to be able to work in a group called NEWS, and to have had so many fans support us. Going solo will be a challenge. I know that it’ll feel different and I’ll go through hard times unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, but I want to use the skills that I’ve learned in NEWS to each and every job I do from now on. I’ll do my best and stay focused so I hope I can stay good rivals with the other five guys.” Ryo Nishikido: “It has been an amazing experience to have been given the chance to work in both NEWS and Kanjani8, and I want to say a huge thank you to all of my fans who supported the Nishikido in NEWS. Being part of two groups, there were scheduling conflicts that couldn’t be resolved no matter how hard I tried. I felt bad because it was getting very difficult to plan CD releases and concert tours on both sides, which ultimately lead to this decision. I wish Koyama, Kato, Masuda, and Tegoshi all the best in delivering a new NEWS.” Keiichiro Koyama: “We talked over and over again until we reached this decision. We might be working separately now, but the four of us will carry on what we have all done for the past 8 years. We promise to work harder than we ever have, and we will move forward. This is really quite sad. They should really just disband it entirely though it's unfair to the other members. But I just don't think it's going to work well with just these four. They're not going to sell well and if they have concerts the old songs will be difficult to perform.

...was not expecting to read this kind of news, at least today. i'm not surprised at all, but i just wasn't expecting to read about it today.
anyway, i still have respect for both yamapi & ryo, but 4 member NEWS, of course, just won't be the same. tegoshi and massu are already doing well with tegomass, so honestly, i'm surprised they still want to stay in NEWS. 4 members is just not enough, i think. i'm actually not sure what to think. i love kanjani8, and i love yamapi's solo works (i really do, honestly, lol  ) but it's just so sad for NEWS. i really thought they would just break up for good, but i guess we'll just have to see how this works. i don't know how much they'll sell, though. but regardless of sales, it just doesn't feel like a complete group to me anymore.

I am not surprised. I started guessing Yamapi would leave after Jin left KAT-TUN. It is sad because NEWS was my first Asian boyband to be a fan of and like TVXQ broke up, I also feel the same for NEWS now. But of course, boybands don't last forever but it still gets to you.
Koyama is my favorite member and I do love them all even though Yamapi could annoy me. But as a group, they were awesome. I'm not sure how successful they'll be now. I wish they just disband but they want to keep going and I'll respect that. We'll see how this goes. But the good thing about this... I'm glad they all talked this over and support each other with their decisions. Good luck guys! |

i'm not surprised Ryo would leave. KANJANI8's getting popular now and i think that being in 2 groups would be troublesome for him in the long run.
but YamaPi? ...idk what his excuse is. especially since NEWS is/was HIS group. i've never imagine him to leave, but it was bound to happen i guess. i honestly feel really bad for Shige, Koyama, Tegoshi, & Masuda. they didn't deserve this type of treatment. i hope for the best in the future.

I even remember 3 years back on HEYx3 , Koyama was the 1 that said without Yamapi , NEWS is finished , as part of some silly April Fools Day joke/prank that was hit on him
And now that this has become a reality , I don't know what else to say about this ._. Getting new people to join NEWS wouldn't solve the problem & imagine for those fans that have follow/support NEWS from the beginning of their debut 8 years back til now Now what I can only do's to wait & see what's going to happen next but the reminding 4 members have to do even more harder than before , now that Yamapi & Ryo have left since both of them are the ones that draw in a lot of fans

On October 8th, Uchi Hiroki (25), Kis-My-Ft2’s Kitayama Hiromitsu (26) and Miyata Toshiya (23), and actress Takahata Mitsuki (19) held a press conference and public rehearsal on the opening day of their stage play ‘Ikemen Desu ne‘ at Akasaka ACT Theater. Uchi, who is a former member of Johnny’s Entertainment group NEWS, was asked his opinion regarding the withdrawal of members Yamashita Tomohisa (26) and Nishikido Ryo (26). However, feeling uncomfortable with this inquiry, he answered with “I will leave it at no comment“, brushing away the question in its entirety. Koyama Keiichiro shares his thoughts on NEWS’ fresh start
On October 10th, NEWS member Koyama Keiichiro appeared on “news every.“, which he regularly takes part in as a newscaster. During the program, he shared his thoughts on the group’s fresh start. This is the first time for any NEWS member to speak live after Yamashita Tomohisa and Nishikido Ryo left the group. Koyama was asked by NTV’s newscaster Fujii Takahiko to give a few words about NEWS’ fresh start. Gazing solemnly into the camera, Koyama expressed, “NEWS has had too little activities as a group until now, but even so, our fans have been waiting for us. So, I absolutely did not want to end NEWS here for those fans.” Indeed,NEWS’ group activities were very limited, and the last time the members all gathered together was in April during Marching J’s charity event for the Tohoku earthquake. He also commented on NEWS’ future, saying, “It will be quite tough way from now on, but we will try our best.
