That's the problem with BEST performances. It's like how it was with BEST of CDL 2006~2007, it was pretty dull compared to other CDLs/shows because it was more of a performances outtakes from previous tours, so this one looks like it as well (and it's not only with ayu). The Japanese must love these though. XD

I wouldn't really accuse ayu of this, but that's like a "necessity" every couple years for the japanese fans/audience.

Kinda like BEST of CDL 06-07 had the A Song for xx standout performance and this one has the HEAVEN/JEWEL one.

It feels like the Japanese likes BEST better, while us foreigners prefer a concert with an actual theme (laugh)

Maybe because it's the 8th time I've seen her- it just felt like a copy-and-paste ayu show, with short segments (no more than 2 songs) and long interludes, lots of dancers, acrobatics, and lots of ayu just standing around.

The theme was a mess, the setlist was odd- ending with Voyage? The random English wasn't that nice... And Timmy. Ugh.

The opening was really strange also- all this drama and hoo-hah around dolls and marionettes on strings who break free. It should've just started with ayu appearing on stage as she did.

The allusions to past tours were good- I obviously noted the last segment's to ASIA TOUR 2007's opening segment, but it wasn't until Nem pointed out to me that the trick in Wake me up was taken from Ladies Night at AT06.... and I'm sure there were other illusions in the show to past shows, too. (Like the mask in the opening to CDL 10-11, maybe the tiara and hair in JEWEL/HEAVEN to HANABI/End roll in AT08, etc).

The encore was strange with the double encore... it was funny tonight though because these *****es wouldn't shut up and kept shouting and ayu had to take three times putting the mic down, then being like "seriously you guys can't keep quiet? please?" until she finally got to do her mic-free "ARIGATOU GOZAIMASHITA~~~~~~~" but then obvi came back for MY ALL.

Erm what else... pokerface~Fly high and HONEY were totally mimed... shame HONEY is a short version... Also You & Me? Seriously? BLUE BIRD was nice though...

But the interlude with DJ 2-YAN playing Sweet Nothing and Starships and Gangnam Style (to which I was totally twerking to the first two btw) before ayu came on stage? Total wtf moment!

That's all I can say really- was a bit angry I won't be going again tomorrow night because Celga are completely incompetent (guys don't ever use them) but after seeing the show I'm not too fussed lmao.

I think you are a little hard on the tour.

But it is true that this tour really isn't anything that special compared to previous years. What saved it for me was the setlist. It does bother me though that they held a vote for the top 50 songs, yet the setlist doesn't change except for one song in the encore. When I first saw the tour, I thought the reason for the pretty basic setup was because they would be changing the setlist every other show or something. For example, the ballad section - No Way to Say/M could easily be changed out to Days/Dearest, the cute section of the concert could be using different cute songs that made the top 50 etc. etc. The fact that the setlist has remained the same is the biggest disappointment imo.

Her Grand mother passed away in Fuuoka while she was recording it in Tokyo, I doubt it bears good memories for her (in that sense).

(and felt for obvious lip-synching constantly too \o\)
