She does it because Darling slayed the charts (still #26 on recochoku despite being released 8 months ago + longest consecutive top 10 run on recochoku) and she found another type of sound works for her and not a lot of people do this kind of music so she's trying it out. I'm sure her next single will be more ballad-y again (I'd live for another banger like We don't stop though) + people are complaining that she does the same ballad stuff all the time and she should change up her style and now she is doing just that

I really don't think that her current style is really that different from her safe ballads. Something different would be if she covered Kuu's Juicy.

ahhh oh my god, I can only imagine. Speaking of which... I've always found it weird that she has Namie, Kumi and Miliyah in her top 6 'similar artists' section on last.fm. Definitely don't see/hear the similarities. Please anticipate the 6th original album 『 JUICY LOVE 』!

I've been saying it for a while now, this woman is plain vanilla, through and through. She's not even French vanilla or good quality ice cream. She's fucking 1 gallon for $1.99 vanilla.

I'm at a point where I figure she's found the sound she's gonna stick with. I think the little experimentation we got before was her finding her sound. Oh well, I still have her older stuff and the hope that maybe she will prove me wrong to keep me going. I will always be a fan. Unless she makes racist or homophobic comments. Then the bitch is dead to me.
