Hoy shit, DO ME is pure noise. I had hopes when it was mentioned by another member to be the favorite since HUSH, which is amazing. But this is terrible. Also, do we consider this rap? I mean I guess so, but I miss when her rap had more flow. I looooved that. Like in ima sugu hoshii, Under, etc. I really dislike rap in general but she used to make it sound so good. It was smooth, sounded sexy. Now it’s so rough, aggressive, unpolished, prickly and boisterous. So unfortunate.

Well, that is what rap is nowadays in Japan, so she's following trends and being "in" with the current style. As someone said, it sounds very CHANMINA (which I would like a collab for sure, she's cool). As long as she's not doing trap music, I'm happy. This is the line for me. haha
The song is starting to grow on me, I'm enjoying a little bit more. Also, I made a cover for it as well, this time something more futuristic, kinda Thierry Mugler 1991 (♥) meets Kumi 2019. lol

You also have to consider the lyrics and topic she's rapping about.
A sexy and soothing rap doesn't fit in DO ME, a song about (the importance of) being yourself. The aggressive approach fits much better. The was she's knocking out the "あなたはぜったい" e.g. As if she's really angry about it and wants to assure.

DO ME isn't that far removed from the soundcloud rapper trend currently dominating American Hip-Hop and Rap.
There's a little too much autotune in some parts, but the overall structure and vibe is solid. A song like this is meant to have some cocky swagger and a little bit of ego in the vocal. That said, I am not sure how a "smooth and sexy" vocal would fit, given the subgenre she's exploring here. If you're going to find a song from her back catalogue with absolutely NO flow and that is truly problematic, then IT'S ALL LOVE definitely wins. Out of the 3 songs, I lean more towards Summer Time and Eh Yo, but DO ME is fine. She's been eager to explore aggressive songs for some time now, so DO ME isn't too shocking on that front. |

From the goods Kuu's shirt sold out, there are some people on Instagram from the last hours being sad about it. Right now everybody except DA PUMP and Kuu has performed. Today the weather in Aomori is great unlike yesterday. Kuu really is a 晴れ女.

They've released the news!
New original album called re(CORD) coming this fall! The info says, that as the tour approaches we should keep an eye out for upcoming songs that are going to be announced one after another. What do the two re(LIVE) and re(CORD) have in common? Details and release date are going to be announced at a later date. Quote:

What an awesome Version of Livin la Vida Loca. I can‘t wait to hear the Rest of the song which sounds like a dance break.
I think she will combine the new songs with covers of international artists and to combine re(Live) and re(Cord) also with covers of her own songs �� |
