I hope the new shoot is as good as the first one and the new tracks as good as the original. This album doesn't even need a repackage, in my opinion. It's already perfect.

Are Korean fans stupid or something? xD Why they always buy the first album when like everyone does repackages? If I lived there, I'd always wait for the repackage.

^Maybe some of them don't buy the repackage version or they're collectors?

^I can understand collectors buying both, but normal fans-- why do they buy the first album at all? I'd never buy an album if I knew in a month or two the same album would be re-released with new tracks... haha

A repackage is never guaranteed though, and why wouldn't you want the original album? If no one bought the original, they wouldn't make a repackage at all!

Well I just finally officially ordered my copy of BoA's Identity Tour DVD. It's in stock, but it has to wait for my paypal echeck to clear first.... Says it'll clear August 30th. Stupid echecks... i dunno why they take so damn long.

^^I mean, I guess you have a point. Only popular albums get repackages, but I still feel like it's kind of cheating the fans a bit. The companies know that BoA, Super Junior, SHINee are all gonna be pretty much guaranteed to get enough sales to repackage, so why not just add those additional songs to the original?

^Because they know they can make money. It works on the industry on the whole. Just like with many other things. Every anime fan for example knows that if you wait boxsets will be released of the series, but many still buy volumes anyways. Same can be said with music. They do it to make money cause they know people will be in a rush to buy the album even though they may know that a repackage comes out later. I think if people did make themselves more patient and waited for the better deal, than the companies would stop doing it cause they weren't turning such a big profit from it all.

It's an industry, of course. They want to make more money. I agree it's not really fair for the fans, but on the other hand, they KNOW a repackage is pretty much guaranteed. In the end, it's their choice to buy the first one anyway.

In a perfect world, all songs would be on one version, I agree ; )

^^Aren't the usually released pretty quickly? Maybe time went fast and I'm crazy... but I swear Super Junior's BONAMANA was out for like a week and they announced the repackage. xD SHINee's album has only been out since right before BoA's and I think they just announced the repackage of that too. And TaeYang's SOLAR came out recently too and the repackage was just released.

It's so fast in the K-Pop industry. Repackages are rare here in the US, and when they do come out it's at least 2-3 months or even longer.

I've only been following KPop for a short time but I thought that repackages usually include the second promotional song? Isn't that why they're usually released so fast and also how they get people to buy them?

And I'm not surprised BoA is repackaging Hurricane Venus; she repackaged her USA debut album so...

I hope the new repackage songs are the same quality as the rest of the HV album and I hope they're upbeat songs. I didn't buy Hurricane Venus yet so I'm not really upset about a repackage. If the repackage songs suck I'll get the original HV, if they're awesome I'll buy the repackage instead

Rihanna released a repackage of Good Girl Gone Bad, called Good Girl Gone Bad : Reloaded (you know, with Disturbia), and that was an entire year after the original.

But that's also because they don't nearly have as many singles per album as they do in the West in Korea. An album's life is much shorter.
