BENI will be release a new single titled "Satsuki Ame" on April 17th.

BENI's upcoming single will be her first physical single in over a year. Her last single, "Eien", was released on January 25th, 2012. Instead of working on new, original music, the singer spent the majority of 2012 promoting her popular cover albums.

"Satsuki Ame" will be released in both a CD Only and a CD+DVD version. The A-side track is described as being an intimate, mid-tempo ballad. Pianist Satoru Shinoya will be featured on the single.

The new single will be BENI's 23rd single of her career.

BENI cuts her hair for her new song

BENI has revealed that she will be releasing her new single, “Satsuki Ame“, on April 24th.

This will be BENI’s first single in about a year and three months. Her last single, “Eien“, was released back in January of 2012. The title track to this single is the first she wrote and composed independently.

Regarding the song, BENI stated, “It shows the feelings of a woman who is set on carrying through with things she has decided on no matter what happens.” The track list has not been revealed at this time.

To coincide with this single’s release, BENI has undergone an image change with a haircut. She commented on her short hair, saying, “My head feels light. It’s simple and comfortable. I think it matches my personality.” She continued, “As I will be starting my new activities with an original song in 2013, I wanted to change my hair to challenge myself with a fresh feeling.”

With a change of pace in her music, BENI has changed her image to go along with it, chopping off her hair to create a bold, new look for herself.

"I'll be starting 2013 with an original song, so I wanted to change my hair to challenge myself with a fresh start," she said.

BENI's new single will convey the feelings a women who has resolved to continue doing the things she wants no matter what may happen.

I think it's really cool if not unique for BENI to sing them in English . She could have just resung the songs in Japanese but I like it that she took 1 step further & translate/sing them in English , it almost become her own songs instead of the originals

kinda curious to see how will the original artistes themselves react if they hear BENI's english takes on their songs , I will be very intrigued to hear their reactions on this
