Wow, I just read the news and I'm still processing it I'm sad to say the least, but at the same time, I'm not really surprised. She's been working her ass off the past few decades and I think she's picking a good time to retire - right after her 25th anniversary and while she's still popular with the public. Just sucks I'm never going to have a chance to see her live now :/ I wanted to see her when I went to Japan earlier this year but her dates didn't coincide with Ayu's and Kuu's

I don't wanna be a pessimist but Ayu may follow this path soon (because of her health)
Then when Kuu retires, will be the end of Jpop for me. Something that changed me and helped me go through so many shit in my life. It really breaks my heart but I will always respect their work and what they have done. They deserve to rest.

I respect the decision but I seriously hope it's part of the marketing strategy of her 25th anniversary, then she says she regret it and that will continue till the end. Not getting my hopes too hight though. Hope I can make a trip to Japan next year to see her for the first and last time.

I am going to Japan next year and I was hoping I'd get to see Namie, as she tours every year. But I didn't want it to be THE last tour =C I need to get tickets. And I hope I can get to that 16th Sept one, which is probably her "goodbye stage".

Also I'm not expecting high hopes for an Asian final tour especially since Namie was supposed to come here & perform but in the end , what Warner S'pore did was just so ugh

I definitely will try to get tickets for the tour. And I'll probably buy the best album. It's unfortunate that she felt the need to completely retire instead of just greatly reducing her output, but I understand and respect her decision.

This is so bittersweet, isn't it? Like, she's at a very good moment of her career, and has worked so hard for so many years, so it feels right to retire now. But then, as a fan, it'll be sad that soon I'll have no more new stuff coming from her
I wonder if she'll keep working on the backstage of the music scenario, producing artists and so (maybe even her son?)
