I hated this song the first time I heard it but after giving it a few more plays I grew to like it.

Lol I never heard her singing that either. Now ROCK U just got more badass to me.

Say the word is so cheesy isn't it her very worst song?
One of my all time favorites and over the years has become one of her iconic songs; hence why it's been in a lot of her concert setlists even though it's an "older" song.

I'm not a big fan of LOVE 2000 tbh, I prefer the SYSTEM BREAKDOWN remix.

Say the word is one of my all time favorites ahaha. It kills me that the single version is always pushed to the side in favor of the remix lol.

The production in LOVE 2000 is actually one of TK's better pieces. It's really hard to find a TK track with more epic and live sounding drums (during that time) than LOVE 2000. It felt like TK was actually pushing his sound a bit more than usual.

I don't know why but i always felt LOVE 2000 / Please Smile Again / Respect The Power of Love are outdated. Never was a fan of them.
This come from a person who loves pretty much all 181920 singles.

^I love these three songs so much. Especially their LE Versions. But i guess to each his own. I can see why. they are the easiest to get outdated. All those 181920 songs are pretty much J-Pop that could still work today.

They are really outdated, and for me that's a strong point haha I don't know, they sound odd and marvelous to my ears lol specially because I can't stand most of today's music :/

I never found it a problem that the songs are "outdated". There are a plenty outdated songs that tons of people enjoy even today. It's really just a matter of perspective, besides, as the poster above me said - it can be good in a way that it sounds totally different than what you'd hear everywhere nowadays. Not everyone wants to listen to the music that sounds "new" just for that sake. I mean, why does that even matter?

^Then again, i was my personal opinion. Of course people are free to feel differently.
I do agree with you "outdated" is not always a bad thing, it can bring a nice nostalgic feeling, which is quite enjoyable.
I just never had links with the songs listed before, but i can understand people enjoy them.

I've known Namie during STYLE era, but i start to appreciate her earlier works recently (since her announcement to be honest) and as previously stated, her older hits are still enjoyable to my ears today, even if her vocal capacity were not on point at that time.

Edit : The LIVE STYLE 2014 ~Ballada~ Rip is so amazing. I love the way Namie performs her ballads in live. I find the live versions much better than studio versions. Emotions are much more present. I'm listening to it like crazy since few weeks.
