I just hope it will get #1, at this point I don't care if it will sell 50,000 or 80,000 first week XD.
I hope they will start the promotion at least next week though!

Well I was reading Ayuangel's TA posts in French and apparently she lost her flight and was stuck in L.A. when she should've left on the 15th. On the 16th she was supposed to start working on a new PV. So today when she came back she got back to work. So I'm guessing this week shall be dedicated to the new pv... maybe next week for promotions.

No, I don't think so because I haven't seen/heard any DBE promotion over there either. I really don't think many people are really looking forward to that movie, even in Japan.

Ok, something kind of scary that I just found out about why there may be no rule/sparkle promotion yet. Normally I would just treat this as a stupid rumor but, I found this on an Japanese Ayu BBS board called 'with ayu'. It is a fan board, no haters and whatnot. So although it may be false, there is also a possibility of some truth to it. Someone there claimed today that the reason for no promotion (or at least tv promotion) is that Ayu did something to anger the executive at TV Asahi (an extremely powerful guy) and that until she apologizes, he is refusing to put her on tv.

Some people are apparently going to start sending letters to TV Asahi.

It's possible I suppose - mainly because I find it beyond weird that with less than a week to go and an album next month, there is literally nothing in terms of promo and that has never happened in Ayu's career I don't think.

Should I make a separate thread for this in Ayu chat?

Hm, but what could she have done to anger this guy? I find it kinda odd tbh.

You also have to consider that she didn't even do any magazine shoots for Rule/Sparkle either. It's almost as if they're not promoting the single on purpose. Perhaps because they knew the album would be releasing soon, and would rather have the album sell really well than the single? Who knows.

lol I'm fine with no TV shows anyway tbh, she's rarely good at singing upbeat tunes on TV lately. It would probably do more harm than good.

Is TV-asashi is only music station? Because if so she didn't perform on music station Mirrorcle World (before or around it was released) so she didn't promote it there. She did perform Days there afterwards.

I also wouldn't believe that rumor so fast just because of a coincedence.
Since the new album will be out right after a month avex might aim to promote it elseway but go figure.

Also I'm sure ayu didn't anger all of the magazine publishers and tv stations.

Ok, apparently, or at least what people are speculating is that this stems back to her last minute cancellation of the Music Station Super Live. It is being claimed that she never made a formal apology to TV Asahi or at the very least, not an apology that was to their liking and thus the problems now. In Japan it would be proper to hear a formal apology from her mouth, but didn't she only apologize online in her blog? (which is meant only for fanclub members to see) It is also said that she had planned to have a docomo CM out last month but those plans were delayed and/or canceled due to this.

In some ways this sounds ridiculous, but in others seems possible seems Japanese companies are indeed super strict about those kinds of things.

Yes, that is true. And its definitely more likely that Avex just decided not to promote this single much for some reason. However, you have to keep in mind that Japanese businesses are very different from western ones - often, if you slight one major company and do not make an apology that is deemed "sincere", you will likely find yourself out of favor with most, if not all major companies. I don't want to start a false alarm, but that is how companies in Japan tend to operate even if it might not be smart by western standards. Anyways, heres to hoping that this rumor is false and that Avex has some kind of massive promotion plan up their sleeves.

I think that if there would be an apology issue I'm sure the tabloids, newspapers and what not would already write about it everywhere and make a scandal out of it.
ayu simply doesn't have the time, or avex aim to promote her with other methods for this single so they can bring a greater promotion to the album later.

Hahaha yeah that's how Japan is alright. I find it sort of ridiculous considering the circumstances of the cancellation that they would still hold a grudge, but I suppose I'm in no position to judge. I wonder if it had been a less popular act that cancelled, and had they not apologized, if they would have been treated the same way. Ayu is kind of a staple to the MSSL, she's usually one of the last to perform along with like Misuchiru, B'z, and SAS I believe. But still, I kinda doubt they would have lost many viewers because of her absence, because sadly, I've been under the impression lately that the Japanese public in general doesn't even like her lol. But maybe that's not even the issue - simply that she just completely disrespected the company by not formally apologizing.

But really now (I can go on for hours about this), wtf? The woman supposedly fell down the stairs and got injured pretty badly just days before an extremely important (probably sold-out) concert that was going to be televised. The last thing on her mind was probably ~sincerely~ apologizing to TV Asahi.

I find this type of so-called 'blacklisting' in Japan that goes on very fascinating. A little odd to me, but still very fascinating. I wonder if Ayu herself thinks more like a Westerner in these kind of aspects. Anyway, whether this is true or not, I think Ayu has been very professional in handling her career so far. I mean, I don't think she has said or done anything that would put her career at total risk (like Koda Kumi). Well, there was that so-called 'handicap scandal' but that seemed to be merely a 2ch fabrication.

This is kind of way off-topic now, but I feel like Ayu comes off really distant and almost diva-like on the 'talk' portions on TV music shows lately. She seems to have lost a lot of charisma with the general public, she almost seems.. shy and uncomfortable? Which is a shame because we all know she's really funny from reading her TA messages! I feel like she's had this 'untouchable diva' image for a while now, but at the same time I feel like that's totally not her.

Mirrorcle World at least had 2 tv performances during its release week - one on Heyx3 and one on CDTV. Plus I believe there were some mag covers, though I don't 100% remember about the mags.

So whats odd about this time is it is the release week right now and there are no tv performances scheduled, no mags for this or next month, no cms currently airing etc etc. She also isn't on the schedule for the upcoming Music Station or CDTV and so far it doesn't look like she will be on the next Heyx3 either even though its supposed to be a special to commemorate their 600th episode - usually Ayu would be on that type of thing especially considering she has 2 major releases coming out in the near future. It seems very odd that instead of doing promo, they have her in LA recording. In the past, she has had a number of singles that came out close to an album release, yet all of those singles were promoted quite a bit. Even Koda recently did it with Stay With Me and Trick - she was all over tv performing Stay With Me. So I'm just curious, if there isn't some kind of media blackout thing going on as is being speculated about on that forum, then just what is Avex planning? I have no clue.

I also find it very strange too...I hope the lack of promotions is because ayu is really busy. She does seem to be busy especially with the tour coming up...I do hope she'll find some time to do tv performances though.

Actually Ayu just took some photoshoots for the magazines which sort of negates this theory. I doubt avex would be stupid enough to get someone so important angry at Ayu. My theory is that she's way too busy because they released this album at the last minute. She's got an album coming up and she's still shooting the music videos and travelling to L.A. We'll probably see her on TV after she's done. Plus the media would be all over this... it's quite a big scandal.

Yeah, at least I was relieved to hear in her recent post that she did some magazine shooting. The theory is still going around though on bbs. What I don't understand though is why Avex rushed this album so much? Why not announce it for end of April instead of March, that way she could properly promote both the single AND album. I don't see why it had to be March.

I'm still not sure what they are going to do about tv performances unless they are planning on either not doing many, or having them air kind of late since the only actual live music show is Music Station. The rest are usually filmed a number of weeks in advance.

btw, I just found this on 2ch so who knows if it is accurate or not, but it is their expected guest list for heyx3 for the next few weeks, they are predicting Ayu for 3/30 for Heyx3 annual LIVE spring show. I hope so because that guest list looks awesome! If this is true, it seems they are completely ignoring the single and don't plan to really promote until after the album has been released - quite a different strategy from how we are used to; hopefully it doesn't kill her sales.
