kanji/romanji + English
It depends on the artist and which one way I can recognize them and their song titles best. Like artists like Ayu that I listen to a lot would have their names and songs in kanji (though Ayu has almost none lol) but artists that I don't I'll just have everything in plain English. Most of my favorite H!P acts though, have the romanji for their songs and the English for their name lol. It sounds random but it's a system that works for me. XD

English if it's an english song title.
Romaji if it's a japanese song title.

However the title and artist are originally written is how I write it. Sometimes they choose to use roman characters (like Perfume), but often it's in Kanji (like Namie).

I just do whatever is the correct tag. The tags of the files themselves are a mess and I don't even bother with those since they don't appear on iTunes.

Lately, I've been slowly converting more artists and song titles to kanji. XD I may change the songs to romanji though, not sure. XD

Kanji for the artist name (unless it's officially written with Latin characters, like ACO or KOKIA), and whatever the official spelling is for song titles. I usually look for the most common Last.fm tag or look up the album on Wikipedia if I'm not sure what to use.
However, I have the "English translation" of artists' names under "album artist" in my iTunes because I want my cover view to be in alphabetical order. Example: 浜崎あゆみ (artist name), "ayumi hamasaki" (album artist). |

I keep all my song titles/artists' name in kanji, and sometimes I put the romaji/english translation of the lyrics in the "lyrics" section in iTunes. I used to have all my songs like that, but now just the kanji is enough for the most part.

whatever is correct.
So, I use romaji/kanji + English. However, for my folders, where it's stored, the artists names are all in romaji, so they can be in alphabetical order. But all subfolders are mixed romaji/kanji/english But in my itunes, they are always sorted by their official names, which is usually kanji.

I've started over. haha. Now I have everything in kanji if the original title is like that.
I have my artists names in kanji too, I always wondered how they are ordered. Not in alphabetical order. When I right click>"sort by name" they put them in a specific way. capsule Crystal Kay DBSK Leah Dizon MiChi Miscellaneous Anna Tsuchiya (kanji) utada hikaru (kanji) namie amuro (kanji) etc. etc. so what is the order my computer uses to sort japanese names?

I tag whatever is proper. I used to have a really messy iTunes library but after all the people on last.fm practically ate my face off over it I changed all the tags to whatever is proper. I like a clean and organized library anyways! Makes me less OCD-ish about my music. Now I don't get all pissy if a tag is wrong becuase all my tags are right now. So for Japanese/Korean/Chinese artists I tag their names in Kanji and tag the song titles as whatever the CDs say.
