I really like that album! It's what got me in to Aimer when it came out, and it's very consistent in its flow. Particularly like Nemuri no Mori, Chiisana Hoshi no Melody and StarRingChild.

Really looking forward to DAWN because Kimi wo Matsu and Brave Shine were really good.

I.m still not a big fan of Brave Shine but I love Ophelia. One of my favourites from her.

I listened to DAWN some days ago. It's not a bad album but the only outstanding song is Dare ka, Umi wo (the song that caught my attention for her). Believe Be:leave, broKen Night, Last Stardust, DAWN and Moon River are the one I like the most after this one. And Brave Shine has grown on me a little.

Aimer announces her 9th Single, ninelie

Aimer will release her 9th single ninelie, which will serve as the ending theme for the anime, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri. This single will be a collaboration with chelly from EGOIST and Hiroyuki Sawano. Aimer has worked with Sawano several times in the past on their album, UnChild and singles like RE: I AM and StarRingChild.


The EP is set to release on the 11th of May, with three editions. First press limited edition will come with a dvd of the ninelie music video. Members of Aimer’s fanclub, Blanc et Noir are able to hear a sneak preview of Spica on the mobile fan club site. In addition, members will get a set of 5 postcards with Aimer’s illustrations when they purchase the single through the Sony Music Shop.

Spica is a bit of an unusual title for Aimer but this makes me curious. And ninelie is probably one of her anagram-like title tracks (Re:I:Am, StarRingChild). In a previous interview, she stated that the "night" theme which was covered throught her first three studio albums (see AM02, AM03, AM04) is finally coming to an and. Maybe next is morning or some sort of random concept?

Why do you think that Spica is an unusual title for Aimer?
Spica is the brightest star of the constellation Virgo. I don't find weird (even not a bit) that Aimer chose it as it's fit the night and space theme which overflows her discography with.

I'm just curious as I'm still new into Aimer world.

Ohh, thanks for explaning. I had no idea that Spica was the name of a star. Yeah, now it makes sense why she chose this title. I was imagining it as a girl name lol

By the way, forgot to update:
Dawn sold a total of 35,979 copies making it the #135 album of 2015 in Japan. Also, this is currently her best selling album.
Brave Shine single sold a total of 31,148 copies making it the #225 single of 2015 in Japan. Brave Shine and StarRingChild are her best selling singles.

Ah ok! I thought that something about her concepts had escaped me, above all that I didn't listen to all of her songs yet.

As I didn't know who Chelly is at all, I checked some of EGOIST on youtube. She has a beautiful voice. I wonder how both singers' voices'll match, sound together.

The preview sounds a bit similar to RE:I AM, StarRingChild and Brave Shine in the sense that it incorporates the hard rock anison vibe with "not giving up" lyrics. Still, something tells me that its going to have a rougher sound like Last Stardust and Dareka Umi wo..

Koutetsujou no Kabaneri Ending



I like the arrangement of the verse. I don't really know which words to use to describe it. It's repetitive and mesmeric at the same time? On the other hand, the chorus's melody is very aimer-like.

I'm waiting for the full version.

Thanks, I was going to post this but somehow I forgot.
I really like the verses section, its really fresh. Somehow it reminds me of Hoshi no Kieta Yoru Ni. The chorus is standard Aimer but definitely better than Brave Shine for me.
