shouldnt ayu's memorial address b included in the earnings for 2004 cuz she released it like in mid-december '03?
I really doubt whether it is the REAL income, such as EXILE and orange range, they even NOT in the list, i really don't believe they will earn less then 300,000, in the case of EXEILE, they have several people, if the income is REAL, income per people is LOWER than the income of staff in avex(JP staff have about 60000 us dollar per yaer) !!!!! orange range(not avex artist) also, they sold 2,500,000 ablum but they even CAN'T GET 300,000!!!!!! THat don't make sence!!!!!

i don't think it is possible, it think they had tried to cheat in order to pay less tax(including AYU) as tax in JP is heavy

The more one makes, the more taxes they have to pay.
But 3 million for CM's and Touring? GAHHHHHHH ~ ! That is A LOT!
I'm curious to know how much she's made in album and single sales since she first started. That's the interesting facts

I am... was released on January 1, 2002.

I thought most of the money that artists earn is from concerts, and not from album sales?

j-pop artists seem to earn a lot less than artists from US/EU , which is a shame. Their record companies rip them off

also , I'm pretty she like the most rich people/celebs dodge some of the taxes . So in reality she's prolly earning a bit more than these numbers tell.

Think about it this way... A good Japanese album in Japan will sell 2-3 Million copies, worldwide. A good English album will sell in excess of 10 million. And for those who complain about Britney making so much money, her first album sold 24 Million copies worldwide, which is nearly 3 times the amount the highest selling album in Japan sold. Her last album (GH:MP) sold 5 Million worldwide, which isn't exactly great, but is still at least twice the average Japanese album.

A correction. A good japanese sold 2-3 million copies in japan alone. Right? Even if the album sales good worldwidely, maybe 2-2.9 Million sold in japan. And why an english album sell 10 million? It is because, USA is the biggest music market the world! WOW That's why 1 or 2 or 3 million copies is just ordinary in america.

This is a fact for everyone that do not know about this. In this Earth, there are 3 places that have big music market. They are: USA, which is the biggest music market in the world, Europe continent, the third biggest music market, and the second biggest music market in the world and the biggest music market outside USA is,JAPAN We should be proud because compared to Europe, Japan's music market is a lot bigger and compared to USA, an album could sell 2-3 million copies in that small country(compared to USA and Europe). It's really awesome.

Yep. That's very true and unfortuantely true for most artists around the world. License fees is where the real "music money" lies. That's why it's a good investment to buy the copyrights of the Beatles' songs.

It was a good thing that Hikki was led into the music business by her family, mainly her dad, who knows the business and has good connection of people in places, so Hikki was quite as taken advantage by label companies and managements, when compared to Ayu and most of the Avex artists.

But then again, I always say it might be good business arithmatics that make the tax numbers lower not necessarily lower earnings. ^^
