Ugh. That comment makes me not want to buy Ayumi's new album and buy a bunch of aiko stuff instead.

I'd take good music and natural beauty over horrible music like 'B.A.D.' and 'Pride' and Ayu's false image any day. The whole idol thing is overrated and sickening. Sure, a lot of it is catchy, but a lot of artists don't make their own music or even write lyrics. Take Utada Hikaru for example, she's been writing wonderful lyrics and music lately, with a normal, natural beauty to her.

I can honestly say I'd pay $100 to see Chihiro Onitsuka or aiko if Ayumi had a concert the same night for $60.

I second that. I don't like songs sounding the same... and honestly it gets old after a while. Hikki's Passion is good though so we'll see what shall happen though yes her Exodus and Be My Last were mediocre.

And I agree. I don't know what's this big deal of natural beauty. All artists have make up even if it doesn't show. Plus what's so wrong with make up? I don't get why so many people are prejudiced against make up when after all at the end of the day they all have make up. I like make up and do not care if my favourite artists have make up. I really do not get what's so wrong about make up.

Remember that what is horrible for you is not for us. I loved Bold and Delicious and Pride and thought the quality was very good.

All artists have an image of themselves which in theory can be considered fake. And honestly Utada's looks bore me to death. Ayu simply changes her image a lot.

Pah. Fine. Let's just end this stupid argument by saying some people prefer natural beauty, others prefer sparkly dolled up idols, while other enjoy both. The End.

Well, I was just stating my opinion, as usual with a lot of sarcasm. I don't see any reason for you to go all kamikaze with:

"Ugh. That comment makes me not want to buy Ayumi's new album and buy a bunch of aiko stuff instead"

Oh yeah, the best way to get back at me is to not buy Ayumi's new album. Brilliant. That gives a whole new definition to "pop extremist".

Like Demure Dusk, I was just really tired of people going on and on about "natural" beauty. I don't think Ayu would be who she was without being sparkly and dolled-up. Then she'd just be like Aiko or Chihiro Onitsuka. It's a little something called individuality.

OKay, that's the last thing I say on this matter.

^ Lol yeah. It's just that people have different points of views and what you might consider awful is nice for others. For me a change of style keeps me hooked onto the artist even if it means having make up which shows. And the variety is what hooks me on Ayu and what makes her shine.

Go makeup! Yeah, what's so wrong with wanting to look better with a little help?

I agree, Hikki's look isn't the most appealing thing on earth. She could use a bit more makeup sometimes, truthfully. And a hairstylist. But, man, could she make albums! First Love and Distance blew me away. Deep River could have been a bit better, though, i.e. more new songs (Final Distance didn't really belong with the new stuff), and something else other than ASAP. I really, really don't like that song Still, Deep River was for the most part good.

Exodus was just pandering to what the American public wanted. It was all about sex, being eezy breezy, getting a new "microphone", and how people in the Far East "get down". Blech.

Thankfully, I think Passion is gonna be great! Finally, a Hikki single that has got me excited after a long, long while.

nautural beauty is great... and ayu has that

but c'mon guys! most girls liked to get dolled up... I LOVE to get dolled up and would do so 75% of the time... I just love it! Ayumi seems very girly... she probably LOVES getting dressed up and all that PLUS she's a great entertainer...

I'd pay 200 bucks if Ayu would come to the states and perform

I'm a guy, and I like being sparkly too! There can never be enough sparkly people in the world.

I'd sell my soul to watch even one Ayu concert. But she'll have to perform Surreal. After that, I can die peacefully, without regret.

aiko underrated? dream on. her singles and albums always open in the top ten. they always sell well.

i'll give you underrated. tsukiko amano. jun shibata. maybe even shakalabbits.

ayumi won't stress out. aiko and utada are inferior. they're only worthy enough to lick her prada shoes.
