Wow this is getting dramatic. Don't like her music? Don't listen to it. It's tiring hearing "fans" always whine of how her quality of her music is declining and how they don't like an outfit or how she made her make up... geez have you seen her hairstyle during Surreal? She looked like a ridiculous Barbie doll to me at some events with that puffy hair. Yet I did not care since I enjoyed Ayu for her music and not for these tiny insignificant details. And she was insanely popular.

She has spent 7 years in the music industry. And yes people are probably bored of her, teens have grown up and probably a new generation is about. New artists are around, new genres are more popular, times have changed. You cannot expect her to stay on top forever. It's absolutely impossible. Yet she's still the Queen of Pop. In 2005 she has been the top female seller beating Mika with her NANA gimmicks, Ai with her rising fanbase, BoA (who everyone claimed she shall replace Ayu) and Kumi with her best album and all those singles. This is according to stzr3 @ AHO.

And also I must say that even if everyone claims how she's sinking blablabla...who did the Shinobi administration choose to sing their theme song? And who did that game choose as a singer to sing the opening and ending song? And why does the huge brand of Panasonic still hold her as a spokesewoman? And why was she chosen as the queen of ballads and scored in 6 out of 12 polls for female charm, etc? And also why is there a hall of fame for Ayu for the Best Jeanist Award? Also why does she perform more than any other artists in A-Nation and is the most visited artist in avex's websites? Honestly if she was losing her popularity she wouldn't get any of these sort of things.

I don't care if a million people love her or only five do. Sure it makes me happy when she hits #1 on Oricon but I still love her music nonetheless. I enjoy every single release of hers and have fun instead of whining how her career is sinking.

I think the problem is that many people love Ayu simply because she is popular and has got this queen status. As Impact has mentioned they put her on a pedestal and worship this "perfect" image of hers and when they discover she's not perfect or find a single which they do not like... they run off to chase the new trend like sheep.

Ayu has always worked hard to please her fans - she has had ear problems, emotional problems and she barely has a normal private life as we do with those tabloids posting rubbish about her. Most artists wouldn't give a fig about their fans like Ayu does. She even visited her fans when she recovered after she was ill during A-Nation. She has suffered so much just to make her fans happy and it does tick me off to hear people saying she should retire and leave simply because you hate one single song or because some stupid tabloid is claiming how so and so artist is gonna replace Ayu. Because I'm sure she'd feel hurt if she heard that after all the effort she has done in all these years. It's not the end of the world if she's not the queen anymore.

Ayu is just at the point where she can do almost anything with the years she has been in the industry. Ayu may be decreasing in sales but not so much that she still wont have the number 1 spot, she is always releasing new material (who wants to hear the same type of music over and over and over...), and who gives a **** of what other people say. It's their opinion. We still love her. we're still her number 1 fans, and most of us supported her since the beginning. Her fanbase is still huge so I don't know whats the whole talk about what's happenin with her.

OMG. More complains...

Why can't people just accept what they get and shut the **** up? Everybody is being so damn dramatic about every little detail! Gees, yes the title is "(miss)understood". So what? It's just the title! Some fans are so damn demanding. And because they don't get what THEY want, they complain? Get over it. Seriously...

*Demure_Dusk, completely agree with everything you wrote!

There is no reason to be taking out your frustrations over this topic on the fans who don't like what Ayumi's been releasing as of late. There's room for discussion and reasonable arguments over why Ayumi is declining or why Ayumi is still on top of her game. But it's just so negative to say some people are whiny or aren't "real fans" and it's rude to tell them to shut up, just like how it's rude to say fans who always like Ayumi are mindless followers. Keep up the finger pointing and I'll be inclined to close threads like this.

Well, when I look at her now, she seems so much more cheery than before. I think she truely gained more confidence in what she does (look at her dancing around silly in B&D! XD). So even if her sales may not be going along with it, she is making the career worth the while. ;] Don't forget she's a workaholic. and I quote from Max Matsuraa "Ayu never half-asses anything" ;D

I think that's what's most important about Ayu's music- that she's so much more confident now, to actually experiment with different types of music and such, and not be afraid of what people will think .

Yeah! go Demure_Dusk! Well said.
Seriously, (miss) understood, it's literally JUST an album title, it's not even the content of the album. It is really insignificant. It's really funny, yet disappointing to see people getting all pessimistic over a title? Her career is not declining, YOUR minds are! You're standards are obviously too high for her because you simply think that she is a perfect idol. That's totally untrue, no one is perfect in this world alright? Everyone makes mistakes or does things that other might no like. But dont forget there are also others who support her 100%

To the people who started bashing about her, please think about how Ayu would think if she ever reads this or something like that. She doesn't need anymore stupid opinions from anything else to repeat what others have already said about her [mainly tabloids].
It's not like I'm trying to prove your opinions wrong, simply trying to enlighten you. You guys should respect what ayu had sacrifice for us, instead of bashing and whining about things that she's done which you dislike. Have faith in her.

I am (temporarily?) closing this thread because of the disrespect and poor behavior towards other initiates' opinions. It has escalated to something that is ignoring the thread topic.
