I don't wanna be an *******....but I don't think petitions work. Oh sure...we can get zillions of signatures on this petition...but what's that gonna do for Ayu?

She's not gonna come to America just because we all want her to....what about her fans in other parts of the world like Germany? Russia? the Middle East? Ayu's a busy person guys...and sadly I don't think she's gonna travel the world for the sake of her fans. It's not gonna happen guys...get real. Be happy that she at least steps foot into the country once in a while.

I think Ayu could sell out ONE concert in America... Maybe she could do like one North American concert and one European concert? Despite her busy-ness...

I say do something like Dir en grey and Free Will Europe. Sending Euroean fans over to Japan to see them live. (How amazing is that!?). Anywho, Ayu could sell out a concert, then again it depends on where it would be. Some places have more access for foreign music, so they know more about Ayu. As much as Id love her go to the States, she's not going to.. yet.

Comapnies don't pay attention to online petitions. If Avex suddenly started getting thousands of fan e-mails from the US every week or if Hikki takes off, then they may consider the American market.

I'll sign anyway.

I think Ayu's best shot is to perform at an anime convention. Imagine... if Pacific Media Expo can write a big enough check, they could get ayumi hamasaki... and people might actually GO to pmx on top of it! Everybody wins.

A petition won't do it. And no, companies don't pay attention to online petitions, but the idea is to print it out and fax it or mail it to them. They won't pay attention if you email them a URL.

I think Ayu and even L'Arc performing at an AnimeCon is pretty insulting... x_x... They're too good to be performing at a place like that...

I was thinking that too I have a feeling Ayu wouldn't want to perform in that kind of venue.

Why not a real concert in the USA like Namie Amuro (Hawaii) or DAI (NYC)?

There was one in NYC in 2002. It was called The New York-Tokyo Music Festival.

Was PMX like a J-pop convention?

Ugh ugh ugh, online petions don't work for so many reasons! Mainly, Avex will never see this, and even if they did they wouldn't care because there are not enough signatures and it would be a total waste of their money to worry about Ayumi performing in the U.S. Yeah, sure, I would love to see Ayumi in concert...but the chances of that are slim to nil unless I go to Japan.

I'll just say what I said earlier:

Even if you did get a whole lot of signatures, Avex wouldn't be guaranteed that all who signed would attend (imagine if you had 100,000 signatures from people all over the world, but only 200 people attended).

PMX was a japanese/chinese/korean pop culture convention. Mostly focused on music and the Loligoth group though. Not alot of people came... and half of those who did left for Fanime. Mostly they just complained that there wasn't enough Anime at PMX.

So you see, an anime con is the best way to get the biggest group of interested people to go to a jpop concert. I hate to say it but most people in the US don't care about jpop music; only anime.

There is actually an SPJM (Society for the Promotion of Japanese Music) but it's really small... they were going to start a jrock/jpop con, but so far there hasn't been enough of a following or interest to get it off the ground.

And don't underestimate the PMX stage; Psycho le Cemu and TM Revolution got decent treatment there. Although they did get to walk around and not get mobbed by fangirls cuz no one really noticed them offstage and out of their costumes ^^;;
