The thing is we don't really know if GEO sampled the songs, if it was done legally. Just one bit of information about any kind of credit that's possibly in Sweetbox's albums would solve to 'big mystery'. You can't really use old songs as you please, you need a licence/permission - unless it's indeed an old folk tune or something that nobody holds copyright for, like you mentioned it could be. Either way, we would just like to know the story behind it.

I'm sure somobody could just look up the credits in Sweetbox album, maybe they actually do credit something/someone.

If it's from a classical song or mostly any song that's more than a certain years old you can use the samples all you like, there's not copyright, but I can't remember what the agelimit isanymore. But I'm 100% sure you can use and songs made before 1900.

Usually it's easy to rape an old n' original songs, but there's some artist who don't do that. Ayu is now one of them, wd. Well.. I haven't heard the very original version.
