I did once on one of my music teacher's activity.
The teacher asks the entire class "what is your favorite song and why did you like it so much?".

So, I really hesistate to write the essay because this is my chance to showcase Ayu in my class.
At that time, glitter was Ayu's new song before.

I wrote something like this:

"My favorite song would be glitter by Ayumi Hamasaki because of its lyrical content: I like that it expresses joy and hope despite of hard times and sadness. And it was very cheeful song to listen! "

Thats I can remember so far.

All of my classmates loves western or our own artist's music and I wonder if my teacher can recognize Ayumi Hamasaki since the Jpop popularity in my country is so sacre.

yes, did a poetry project in which I had to dissect the lyrics of a song.

I picked STEP you over her other more poetic songs because...of a personal attachment to it...and because it's fun and I thought people would like it.

And they did...and now some of my friends love her.

I said this is some other thread, but last November I did a webpage about Ayu. No one really thought anything about it. The teacher was asking me some questions which I proudly answered but her voice had that "wtf is your problem you crazy child" vibe. People pronounce her name wrong in front of me on purpose.

It didn't go well lol

We had a project in Art 1 where we had to draw a copy of a photograph we found in an Ad from a magazine - I used one of Ayu's panasonic camera ads. I got an A and the teacher liked it enough that it went up on the wall!

I've only had the oppertunity to use Japanese music in general, not Ayu yet. I had to do one page papers on songs freshman year, and I wasn't an Ayu fan yet, so the songs where by Rie Fu and FictionJunction YUUKA ;_;

I hope to have an oppertunity to include Ayu somewhere, I should quote her sometime in an essay or something =D

This was back in 2003, so I believe it was a 2002 ad for a lumix camera. In the picture, she was wearing something like a race car driver's jumpsuit and had straight blonde hair.

that's too obvious...

but then in new high school,
a lot of people know her, cause many many asians like koreans or taiwanese..
and they are all knowing her... ahahaha.
But maybe some of the non-asians still believe japanese music consists of..
Shakuhachi and koto. and geisha. LOL

Most of the stories here are pretty interesting. I just wish I knew someone who is a fan of Ayu....

Sometimes I play her Concert or PV in my classroom projector during long break (when the Asian Music Haters are gone XD) So fai I have play AT03-04 up to AT07 and the class were "OMG she's great, even greater than Beyonce (that time was after Beyonce's concert in Indonesia)" and they were like mesmerized.

The same thing I did with my Senior High friends in the dormitory, and the same expression flew out..tee hee

I did! I did! Like some months ago, in Music class, the teacher made each student to gave a presentation to the class about worldīs music, and each one of us had to pick a certain region of the world to search music from. I obviously picked Asia (China, Tibet and Japan) and mostly the presentation was about Japan xD. I talked bout Ayu, Kumi and Utada mostly and I remember playin the chorus of both Talkinī2 myself and Together When... because at the time they were the last songs released. The teacher loved it, a classmate of mine who fought with me to write bout Japan got quite angry listening to it the rest of class, most didnīt care much, and one classmate said it was "scary" xDDD but yeah, my friends actually think Iīm pretty nerd for liking it LOL

Actually,in the English class,we had an assignement about a song that is meaningful to you,so I decided to bring "Fly high" and "A Song for XX".When I showed the song to the class, they were estatic with Fly high(They began to dance)! But this stupid kid said that she sucked. And I punched him in our break.
That's what you get when you mess with Ayu!

Man that is so awesome! I never have anything that involves Ayu happen to me -_-...The most I've seen was Ayu being promoted at anime cons and that's it. No one around here ever mentions Ayu other than that >.<;..

there's a music club at our school, and its president texted me one morning asking me to bring in some jpop cds, so i gave her MY STORY. ^-^ i heard pretty good reception, and have turned a lot of people onto jmusic in general.

in middle school, also, we had to write a paper on our hero, so of course, you know the rest!

I had to do a Power Point presentation about myself in my Intro To Multimedia class this past year and I used some pictures and music from Ayu during the slide when I talked about my favorite music. Other than that... nope, Ayu hasn't been used in my class room. xD

yeap2!!
in junior high, me and some of my classmate love ayu so much so we sing ayu's song whenever there is a free time.. and we dance the INSPIRE dance acording to the concert.. wkakakaka...

everybody is like copying the lyrics i print and sing along.. altrough it's only like 6-7 of my friend sing it..
but sumtime other classmate wants the song to..

when we had a task to write about sumone we adored or look up to there is someone really write about ayu! huahuhaua...
and when the teacher ask us to write a poem.. some student copy ayu's lyrics too (the traslated lyrics).. ==;

so ayu is pretty much known in my class..
