　「怪談」は、幕末から明治にかけて活躍した名人・三遊亭円朝による日本を代表する怪談落語「真景累ケ淵（ しんけいかさねがふち）」を題材にしたホラー。菊之助、黒木の２人の主演で映画化。黒木とは約７年ぶりの“ 共作”で、ともに「好感度」「理想の―」などのランキング上位の常連だけに、相乗効果でのヒッ トを目指す。

　今回、主題歌となるのは、新曲「ｇｌｉｔｔｅｒ／ｆａｔｅｄ」（７月１８日発売）のうちの「ｆａｔｅｄ」 。日本以外の国で公開されるときも、同曲が使用される。浜崎が映画を見て書き下ろしたもので、映画主題歌の 書き下ろしは「忍―ＳＨＩＮＯＢＩ―」（０５年公開）以来、２度目。

　楽曲はロック・バラード。浜崎は「この映画から感じたのは『愛』。それまでのすべてを変えてしまうような 出会い、たとえそれが出会ってはならない２人だったとしても…。そんな運命に導かれた愛を意識した曲を作っ た」と、楽曲に込めた気持ちを話している。

Singer, Hamasaki Ayumi (28)，will be singing the theme song for the horror movie,《怪谈》[ghost story] which will be in cinemas on 4th Aug. This movie stars 尾上菊之助 (29)、黒木瞳 (46), the production of 中田秀夫, who entered the Hollywood in 2005 with 《午夜凶铃2》[the ring 2]. In 2000, Ayu has sung the theme song,《Who...》 for the movie 《月》, who also starred 黒木瞳. Now 7 years later, they will work together once again.

J-pop queen Ayu has brought colours to this movie, which will be shown in 50 countries.

The song chosen,《fated》will be stored in Ayu's new single《glitter/fated》(releasing on 18th July). Not only will《fated》be the Japanese theme, it is also the theme song for the 50 countries, which the movie will be available. 《fated》, just like 《HEAVEN》 in the 2005 movie《-SHINOBI-》, is only written after Ayu has watched the entire movie.

《fated》is Ayu's 41st single. Currently her single sales is 22.76 million pieces, and this makes her the highest record holder as a solo artiste.
