actually, i do too ._.

when i'm speaking though
hikki sounds too much like the other word her nickname was based off of, and that's kinda mean =(

Haha naaah it's okay, I just hate that stereotype that all southerners sound like Larry the Cableguy because it's so not true! I'm from as south as you can get in Mississippi of all places and most of us don't have southern accents. So how Deep South are you talking?! The only deeper you can get is Florida and that's mostly Spanish/Key West type of area.

YAY for southern people on AHS!

I always thought that Alabama was the state with the most Deep South accent! Like task said, we really don't sound that southern but, I know that slang is used alot in the south (ie Memphis, TN,USA)

Back to topic:

Hikki seems easier say..it rolls right off ur tongue! lol

I went to college on the coast of Alabama and while some people had accents, the majority didn't.

in japan, the last name goes first. same with china, and most other asian countries

she chose to use utada hikaru, even though she was born in new york

which reminds me:

does she have an ENGLISH name?? (if not, she should XD like hillary or something )

I find it easier to say it japanese style for everyone...

Occasionally, I would say "ayumi hamasaki", but I usually say it the other way around.

Utada sounds more commercial. Just like Koda instead of Kumi, and Ayu instead of Ayumi. I mean a lot of people rather say DBSK instead of TVXQ, Tohoushinki, etc, because it sounds more attractive than the rest.

Of course, this also based on personal opinions, mindset, and habit.

As for me I call her hikki, ayu - ayu and kumiko - kumi because I have special affection towards them!
if I would only respect them (and not listen to them) I would call them hikaru, ayumi and kumiko xD
