These are simply STUNNING! I was mad when the lower-quality image surfaced earlier and everyone was ripping on it saying it didn't look like her. I think it looks just like Ayu, and these covers really draw you in. She is just like an angel on these. Definitely the picture to show of Ayu when people don't know who she is.

I have more mixed feelings about these covers by the minute. Though you can still tell it's her, she looks so....forgive me, White here (nothing wrong with that, of course, except that that's not who she is). And she's been digitally altered to look like...19. =\ I wish avex would let the natural Ayu shine through more often.

Like, when she has no makeup on in the AT07 DOCUMENTARY, it's like... "wow, has she aged?!"~

My opinion on the Ayu = Caucasian-ish thing is that she's looked like this ever since LOVEppears. She's always had a non-black haircolor and has looked very foreign. Her look is very non-traditional Japanese, especially since she's been using crazy makeup since her debut.

I think that she should try to keep things Asian for the next single. Kimonos and hot black hairdo, please! And easy on the eyelashes!

Yeah well, she IS going on a hiatus until maybe 2010 to concentrate on opening her school so... I'm sure even more people will forget/never know who she is. Oh well, their loss!

Yeah, she always looks Caucasian. However, it's never been quite this extreme, I don't think. Not even in the off my day/on my way photobooks where she looked quite Western too. I mean, I can't exactly explain it. The "homg not Asian" meter is broken when it comes to these covers. And no she doesn't always look 19.

However, sometimes people need to know it's okay to be who you are and not have to capitalize on someone else's standards of beauty. And looking Asian means you have to throw on a 17th century kimono and have stick straight black hair? Not rly, no.

Nami: I agree that Ayu's looked her age in previous photoshoots, but I guess it depends on the photographer sometimes. I dunno, it just seems like Ayu changes her looks a lot really often. I mean, Ayu looked kinda like a homely girl when she first debuted, kinda like how YUI is portrayed, but now she's like this glamorous figure that people look up to. Has the Caucasian-ness really not been that evident before? I thought it was the most evident around the RAINBOW era. Her light light strawberry blonde combined with some of the hairstyles of that time made her look really Americna. O_O
