Why would Ayu change her name from Kurumi to Ayumi?
I thought she was always "Hamasaki Ayumi".
I have old pictures of her back in the day, and they say Hamasaki Ayumi. .

^ I think on the first page of this thread someone mentioned how Ayu changed her name to "Kurumi" for her modeling career or something. o_o Hmmm.

Why was this thread brought up from July 2003 to April 2006? You could've just posted a new, fresh thread, Sayonara_Ne. Anyway, no, Ayu didn't change her name. Ayu's never changed her name, I believe.

I think the mods just merged the 2 threads together, that's why it's like 3 years later.

Ayumi Hamasaki's real name is 浜崎歩. The kanji 歩 is related to "walking", it has nothing to do with fish. The fish and her nickname are pronounced the same way but there's no other connection.

okay, ppl
today I visited
www.wikipedia.org

it says, actually, that while starring in films, Ayumi used the pseudonim of "Kurumi Hamasaki" instead of using REAL name "Ayumi Hamasaki"
the second thing about her name -
Ayumi in Japanease means WALKER

that's what I found
