^What do you mean by that? (in all honesty) I think she deserves this for all the hard work she's been doing these past few years. And starting with PLAY finally hitting #1 last year it just seems to be Namie's time all over again. And now she's doing a style that she's always wanted to and has control over.

Either way, Namie all the way! 2008 is all Namie in terms of powerhousing.

^well, I know she works hard and all and I'm not referring to her work, I truly like her music, but is her "attitude" that I don't get, is like... numb I don't really know hot to explain it but every time I watch her in PVs, or lives she seems like she doesn't care at all, like she's not alive, like she's carelessly going in life, dunno.

Some namie fans mentioned to me that this is her hip-pop attitude, like all serious and stuff, but I don't like it at all just a a matter of tastes I believe, I'm fan of her music but so much of "her".

Yeah, it's really great and unbelievable at the same time. Namie's been very lucky for the second [or maybe for the 58th] time around. :O I'm just really happy for her.


And about her "numbness", I don't really see why she should have facial expressions that look like she's struggling while dancing. Not everyone is dancing like it's their last breath or something. So, if she can do it without changing her face, all the more power to her. D:

I just think namie has more of a reserved personality. At least she's not faking too many expressions.

As for the matter of she deserving it or not, it's not about her performances, but her music. Her music is anything but "numb" and the fact ppl bought a million of CDs is because they enjoy that mnusic, so way to go namie!

Okay, then you obviously don't know her as well as you think you think you do, since you're hating on her image. A lot of the times artists will have a different stage persona when they are performing. Namie often appears "cool" because she is nervous. She doesn't even give the "dead, cool" expression all of the time. She realizes that she can still be cool while acting cute now.

And also, like it's already been said, she's a shy person.

After all of these years of feeling bad for Namie, it's nice to have another reason to be happy for her. It's good that she's back and going strong in sales.

It would be nice though if she could do the same with a proper Studio Album. That's where the real test lies.

Agreed. I don't see how she "deserves" anything. She works hard but what J-Pop artist isn't working hard, really?

Yepp, I agree with this too. I love Namie's music but her personality and she herself bores me and almost turns me off.
