Erika’s homepage discloses she had hastily severed her connection with Stardust long ago

According to Japanese media, due to violation of company rules, actress SAWAJIRI Erika is to be officially given the sack by Stardust Promotion. Obviously, SAWAJIRI Erika had early become aware of Stardust being going to lay her off long before she knew this information. It seems that she had had a quick breakup with her agency already. She voiced ahead of time an announcement in English, very much convinced that she would not disappear here and now.

This line of words was published in the SAWAJIRI’s official website established in her artist name "ERIKA", presented in a black background with white characters that read "See you at the next stage", which means a transient bye-for-now and that she will be seeing you again soon till the next stage. She apparently is of the opinion that she yet is unwilling to bid a permanent farewell to the entertainment circle. Moreover, this article was delivered on August 30, prior to the news of dismissal.

On the one hand, Erika’s wayward conduct has constantly been criticized of by many; on the other hand, she has for sure acquired as an actress a considerably high esteem. In 2005, starring in the film "Pachigi" won SAWAJIRI a lot of "Movie Rookie of the Year" awards in recognition of her debut effort. In Addition, "1 Litre of Tears", a Japanese TV drama series of her work, also enjoys strong popularity at home and abroad. She reposes great confidence in her ability, she hence wouldn't mind her possibly being discharged by Stardust at all. The fact is that, there will be still agreements that contracts a film or TV play to her, and other firms asking her to join in, even if she leaves office now.

well, ERIKA has made a full comeback earlier this year, but the recent news right now is that she's divorcing from her husband. and...she MIGHT be signed with AVEX to make music again! but there's still no official confirmation, so..we must wait.

Dated April 27th, it speaks of her intention to divorce from Takashiro Tsuyoshi, and that the matter is already under the mediation of her family. She also apologises for any inconvenience and worry that she has caused. She then goes on to say that she cannot speak of the details right now.

HPriest will most likely provide a better/more literal translation, but this looks official now.

Divorce seems likely, Avex in contact with Erika

Things are developing fast now that the big divorce issued got revealed on Sunday and it looks like Sawajiri Erika is really going to proceed with the divorce.

Sanspo claims to have verified the divorce rumor with several industry officials. Apparently she already started to bring up the issue back in September in meetings with her old agency Stardust. In total there have been 3 discussions regarding her divorce plans.

Now she won't be able to rely on her husband anymore, but it seems like Matsuura Masato, the president of Avex, would love to help her out after her divorce. Apparently he is fascinated by her talent and already contacted her a while ago to work out a deal. A friend also quoted Erika: "Right now there are no good movies in Japan. I think I'm going to start with music again this year."

Will she really sign a deal with Avex and make a comeback as singer this year? "It's true that we are currently in talks to work out a contract," an Avex official commented on the matter. Avex also owns the mobile TV service "Bee TV" and might look into a mobile dorama for Erika to slowly get back on her feet as an actress as well. However, no details about the upcoming contract and her future actions have been announced yet. Avex also refrained from commenting in the divorce rumors.

By the way, her mother didn't know about her daughter's divorce intentions either. She was shocked when she heard it on Sunday. "I didn't hear about any problems between the two," she said. People close to Erika, however, said that she is going to meet with her lawyer within the next couple of days and discuss the details regarding the divorce.

It's such a confusing situation with a couple of overlapping rumors. Will there really be a divorce? Will it be a peaceful divorce? Will she sign a contract with Avex? D'oh...

There are still the news about her upcoming contract with the Japanese major label Avex that will include at least one new single and a new album within this year. Tokyo Sports actually claims that they are already about to start with the recordings.

it's official! ERIKA is officially back! a new song will be premiered at the "Girls Award 2010" fashion show on May 22, and it'll also be up on her website erikatokyo.com on that same day.
